Hall quieting doubters

When Jordan Hall decided last year to follow Terrelle Pryor to Ohio State, there were some coaches who questioned his decision and said he'd never play.
Former Jeannette coach and current Latrobe Ray Reitz was not one of those skeptics -- Reitz knew Hall would have a chance to play because of how hard he worked.
"Jordan has football savvy," Reitz said. "He's a smart player and just because he played at a small school, people doubted his ability. Jordan is a tough kid."
Hall, a former Jeannette star, is currently Ohio State's third-team tailback behind Daniel Herron and Brandon Saine. In the past two games, against Illinois and Toledo, Hall has rushed for 66 yards.
He is expected to see more carries as the season continues.
"A lot of people thought he was going just because Terrelle was there," Jeannette coach Roy Hall said. "But coach (Jim) Tressel noticed Jordan on the basketball floor and his athletic ability.
"Jordan is the second-strongest running back on the team and coach (Joe) Daniels said he was the surprise of summer football camp. He loves Ohio State."
Hall has surpassed highly recruited running back Jaamal Berry, who is out of Miami, Fla., and Adam Homan of Coldwater, Ohio on the depth chart.
Hall said he just wants to contribute some way this season.
"I'm going to work hard and try to get playing, even if it is on special teams," Hall said. "The speed of the game is the biggest thing I have to adjust to. My goal is to contribute any way I as can."
