Keep in mind, Ted Ginn ran a 4.31 as his NFL combine 40 time. Regardless of whatever slow or fast the track was, that is the general type of player you're comparing him to when you're talking about 4.31 forty times.

Ted Ginn didn't run at the combine.

4.31 with little to no training leading up to the combine, and still being injured. 4.31 is not unrealistic for Berry. Ted Ginn is not a 4.31 guy.

If we're talking combine times... I don't think anyone ran under 4.30 this year, so, 4.31, is pretty darned fast.

That's true, but bear in mind that this year's combine appeared to have an abnormally slow track as compared to previous years.

Isn't it held in the same place every year (RCA Dome in Indy)?

Edit: Never mind. I forgot they had built a new facility over there.

Miami-Dade County high school football is not known for one getting big break away gains, unlike maybe other areas in the state/country. They are hard fought yards. Berry had a more experienced offensive line his senior year than his junior year (and a lot of those OLs from this year will be seniors next year...yikes).

Watching him play over the years, Berry has had to create plays on so many occasions to be able to get free and get downfield. I have seen him literally dance in the back field and move from one side of the field to other (that's probably a little bit of Jim Brown in him). Again, you really have to see this guy in person. The films don't do enough justice for him for all the fine details of his game. It's kind of like watching hockey from the upper deck and not seeing all the fine stick work.

I've heard it said a few times earlier in his career that he has a bit of Barry Sanders in him in being able to twist/turn through the line like he does, and again, that's not easily seen in the videos.
