Bad News On The Jaamal Berry Visit Front - Today, 08:42 PM

When word was going around the internet that Jaamal Berry would make an unofficial visit to OSU in early August I cautioned that the trip wasn't 100% certain. At the time Berry had told me the plan was to visit Ohio State Aug. 5-7 and it looked like it would happen. However he just sent me a text saying the trip is off because of money issues. He is scheduled to make an official visit to OSU when the Bucks play Michigan.

I'm shocked as to how many unofficial visits recruits go on nowadays to as many schools as they do. Very understandable that finances have to be kept in order, especially when gas prices are as high as they are.

The good news is that there is no love lost between Jaamal and OSU, he's still coming in for the annual butt-whooping in November, and we still lead for his services. That's a lot of good news!

2009 ESS Rankings

Elite Scouting Florida Top 100
16)Jamaal Berry-Palmetto-RB-5’9-190-(Committed to Ohio State)- Like with Miller, Berry gets knocked down the board because of academics. If he was qualified along with Miller they would probably be 1-2 in Florida and both would be top ten players. Berry is a much more powerful back then either Miller or Pryor and has just as much speed. He does a good job of running with his pads square to the line of scrimmage and Berry never seems to go down on first contact. He needs to improve as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
