Gotta love West's performance against UW whose strength has been their rush defense. Great vision, good timing, made people miss, ran over guys. Really think that he and Jackson are our best runners. And Jackson is becoming a weapon in the passing game as well. These guys give us the best chance to move the chains.

West carried the ball nine times for 55 yards against Wisconsin, easily the Buckeyes’ most productive rusher at six yards per carry. Advanced stats provided by Pro Football Focus contextualize his performance even further, however. In just 21 carries this season, West has forced six missed tackles. That’s as many as James Peoples has in his 40 carries at running back and tripling what CJ Donaldson has done in 60 carries. Donaldson’s job is more to run tacklers over than to make them miss, but it is still telling that West had more forced missed tackles against the Badgers (three) than Donaldson has had all year (two).Some inside baseball from a reporter who’s covered Day his entire head coaching career: You can always tell a player’s stock is seriously rising with the coach when he references specific plays. Could the freshman West be emerging as the Buckeyes’ No. 2 back behind fellow freshman Bo Jackson?

Too soon old, too late smart
And yet one wonders how the pre-season line-up had both of these guys farther down the pecking order. The emergence of the two of them, true freshmen, makes me wonder if trouble holding on to the football? Missing holes, simply 'not getting it', and then all of a sudden, voila. Bo seems to have lost some of his early dynamics, but Isiah has seemed to 'get dynamic' and gain some yards. Maybe it's like the pitcher that's called up, an strikes out bunch of opponents, and then second time around (the league), the tape shows tendencies, and he gets shellacked. Don't really know, can only guess. tOSU still seems to bring in Donaldson when there's a tough yard or two needed. Anyway that's what the coaches are paid the big bucks for.....Go Bucks (team not the $).

Each time I see West or Jackson run I think about what they will be like with another two years in the program, such as with Coach Mick and his team.

West really looked good running the ball against Purdue. He and Jackson should be a good one two punch to close out the year.

Buckeye For Life
If the Oline all come back next year, and they continue to work on the run game with the very young running backs, next year's offense could be one of the best ever seen at OSU.
The loss of Tate will hurt, but another year of experience for guys like Julian, JJ, Klare, Innis, Mylan, Rodgers, and Porter looks scary.
Think of the jump Burrow and LSU took his 2nd season there. And Jules in his REDSHIRT FRESHMAN season is already playing at that level. Sky is the limit.
