They should be taking the top off on 2nd and 2.Oh wait.....that makes sense. If he's the short yardage back, and they put him out there on 2nd and 2.......there's only one way to make sure you're out there on the next play for 3rd and 1.
CJ was the highest graded RB vs. Texas, Washington, and Illinois...our three toughest opponents. So, who exactly is going to take carries away from him? Quinshon Judkins isn’t walking through that door. Overall, the RB room is simply not elite, nor anywhere near it.I mean what if he continues to underwhelm in short yardage situations? It’s like 2023 all over again. 3rd and 1 and the entire sideline is like “oh fuck”
This is from Spencer Holbrook at LR:I don’t see West taking carries from the guy who gets the majority of his carries in short yardage situations.
Coaches dont seem impressed with Donaldson nor PeoplesI actually think he can help this team in the second half of the season. We've been hearing about Isaiah as a potential under-the-radar star for about a year now. And typically, it's wait-and-see mode with guys who come in injured. Ohio State stayed excited about West through his rehab

I'm more and more convinced he's going to end up being RB2 next year.
Maybe by this November?
It’s high ceiling vs. high floor. It‘s not about being impressed, it’s about trust. When the staff was repping Bo against lower tier opponents, their intentions were fairly clear. Until we see anyone not named CJ get the rock on 3rd and 1, then I’m a seller on him losing carries in those situations. I’m not disparaging a change, I’m just not seeing any actions even hinting at one. This is from Spencer Holbrook at LR:
