i think he knows what he did wrong, and he definetly regrets it, i think everybody deserves a second chance even if it is something that horrible, and if he cant fix it after that then only the future will tell, but for now i think a second chance should be in the making, if not scholarship, but atleast a walk-on bid. I didnt know he was referred to as "Bell-Guilford" either?

I don' know.... I know what he did was Horrific no doubt..... He has paid his debt and should be given another change I think. Thank god I got a second change as a kid when I messed up royally!!! If it was not for that second change I would have never graduated HS let alone college.

Your right Tibor maybe it would be better if he decided to drive around drunk and be allowed to play..No way should Tressel let a player who did that have a 2nd opportunity... wait.. oh yeah, these are kids, they do deserve a 2nd opportunity.

I am not defending Irizzary because he had that opportunity...

Maybe, he can go play for Lloyd and sit out a couple games. Or Coker and just come to camp and play right away (or until injury). Point is, if he doesn't play for us, he'll play somewhere. Louie-Louie will be starring in next year's version of "The Longest Guard".

That's so wrong, but I have a problem keeping my thoughts to myself.

Guilford should not have a 2nd chance to don a Buckeye uniform after this kind of offense. Should he be allowed back as an ordinary student-yes. Should another school offer him an opportunity to transfer-probably. Playing football for the Buckeyes (or any bigtime program) is a serious privlege-not a right. Ira can make a fully productive life for himself w/out wearing the scarlet and gray, and I hope he does.....

he sits and watches this entire year.....he is put under a microscope from the coaches that is relentless.....zero missed classes...curfew....grades...etc.....one screw up and he is done.....

if he passes all of these tests....next year he is on the team....under the same rules....

It seems odd that he has enough money to make restitution of the stolen money and on top of that pay the victim for the "semester"...aren't we on quarters...but he still had to rob him that night

Was he that bored at OSU to stoop to thuggery or just in the wrong place at the wrong time with a thug like Louis???

Hmmm, beating up and robbing a student on campus is not a simple mistake or poor choice. It is unexcusable. Youth is not a plausible excuse for those actions. I don't understand how someone in their late teens(or even just out of kindergarten) does not know that assault and robbery are wrong.

I hope that he has legitimate remorse for what he did to that student and how his actions affected that student, more than just remorse for the opportunity he lost with the Buckeyes.

Hilarious that most of you consider beating somebody and robbing them a "mistake". Interesting how most of you seem conservative on the political boards, but then turn into bleeding heart liberals when it comes to scumbag Buckeye players. :lol:
