RB Erik Haw (official thread)

as of now im treating it as a rumor... i haven't heard anything yet... it would suck if its true... we could have a crazy backfield if he stays you can always have a fresh guy in the backfield... but if its true i think he will push for starting back from day one...

The news reports and other official confirmation probably won't come out until atleast tomorrow, but the people in the know at this site have confirmed it. It's more than a rumor...:(

Best of luck to Erik out west!

This would be Erike best shot at not only major college PT, but also at the pros. Granted, anyone can have a good workout that didnt play much and still be picked up as a FA, but Haw has the ability at a place like ASU, or UCLA to showhas his goods. I think for OSU, the loss wont hrt that much. We have Pittman, M. Wells, C. Wells, Aram Olson, Dionte Johnson and Stan White all in our abckfield. Not to mention Troys great abilty outside of the pocket to take the pressure off of the running game. Then next season we get another upgrade in Saine. This is a win-win situation for everyone IMO.

Also, Im sure that if there was so many injuries in our backfield, the coaches know to grab kids like Shaun Lane or Anderson Russell - both were quality backs in high school.

Eric Haw seems like a very speedy player. We do not take any off field disturbances well at UCLA at all. He will probably be on a short leash if he has been in trouble in the past. We needed another runningback, wish we could have recruited one but we will take him if he comes here. I hope he shows up with the right attitude and wants to be a bruin. The competition at runningback will be good for him and our other runningbacks including Chris Markey, and Khalil Bell. These two players are mediocre at best and if he is as good as advertised he should definently get a strong look at being the starter in 2007.

If you haven't had time to read through the entire thread, Haw is fairly big (6'1", 215-220) and has blazing speed (hand-timed under 4.3). He got PT a few games last year and did fairly well (14 carries, 61 yards, 1 TD). If he's given a fair chance, I think you'll be pretty happy with him.

This is a rumor. im 95% sure. ive asked 2 players for Ohio State (no names) and they havent heard this. If it was true, they would have already heard this crap.
If you want to keep your sources for Buckeye football anonymous then you should probably take their names out of your signature. As for those guys not knowing anything about this. Players aren't always the most "in the know" people, when it comes to things like this.

This is for real guys. There were some things going on behind the scenes here and I think everyone could probably tell by Haw's limited playing time last year. He is pretty tough but I think Haw+ the staff both felt it best to part ways here. Haw knew he wasn't going to play much(in the permanent doghouse) and the staff knew this as well.
