RB DeaMonte “Chip” Trayanum (transfer to Kentucky)

They both seem to pick their hole quicker and hit it with more vigor and less dancing around than Henderson.

I get what you're saying, but it's actually the opposite. Chip sets his runs up via vision, that Henderson has lacked. His stutter move in backfield against Indiana was border-line elite. His lane was cut off, he paused in backfield to read LB, then found the edge with elite explosion when the run lanes were clogged.

People forget that Trey was a CB most of his upbringing in football and only became a RB in his sophmore year of HS. He doesn't look natural at RB, and there's a reason why....he isn't natural at RB. His attributes for the position are freakish, but he just isn't natural at it. Will he make an explosive play periodically? Yes. Does he keep defenses honest in screen game? I think so....

Is he better than Chip or Miyan? Nope.

Could be an X factor on offense. He is a great wrinkle at the FB position, and he can also be a very good RB in rotation with Henderson and Williams.

I’m paraphrasing here, but Bill Landis called him Master Teague with lateral quickness. which is so accurate

Great point about Chip I enjoyed as well......He is now playing the Mitch Rossi role. And while Chip isn't the blocker Mitch was, he certainly gives the defense something to look at. Crazy to think about with Chip's athleticism, but hes around 235 lbs and Mitch played around 250 lbs. But I'll take Chip's athleticism at 235, and his willingness to bang, than Mitch's commitment to being an outright blocker.....

I wanted to scoff at your post when I saw it a few days ago. But after today, I with you. I think Chip is probably our best pure RB followed by Miyan. I like Hendersons talent, but think he should be put in the slot, used on the edge, or other creative ways to get him the ball. If you want a RB to hit you in the face and fall forward for tough yards and were out a defense, then Chip is the man! I’m not a fan of him playing the “Mitch Rossi role”, as he’s so much more dangerous than that and can be used in more ways as well.
