I've seen him do it a few times after he was visibly hurt in some games but I sure don't blame him for anything.
He has proved his guts in spades and doesn't have to answer to anyone. We know how tough he is.

As far as Vernon goes, I do think even the Jets fans knew he wouldn't an instant impact player. I can definitely see him doing better down the road, especially at a position that he has never played (outside LB).

I completely agree with you though. I've only seen Beanie run out of bounds once or twice without any contact. Regardless though, most running backs in the NFL run out of bounds if the needed yardage isn't necessary. A tailbacks life line in the NFL has significantly decreased with the amount of injuries out there. In my opinion Beanie was just being smart consider we kicked Michigan's ass 42-7. (That's the only time I remember him stepping out. Granted the score wasnt 42-7 at the time, it was clear we were going to run away with it.)

yeah, that's what i remember too.

i understand that people are probably somewhat frustrated that Beanie didn't have the season we all thought he would, but injuries happen. i think where a lot of this questioning of his toughness comes from is simply fans wanting more rather than an honest look at what he's been through.

the truth is, we haven't lost any games based solely on Beanie being out of action (USC might've been closer, but let's be honest, we were totally outclassed in that game), and we've won several games on his back. he's an incredible football player who has played with a ton of passion, and i'm always going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

sometimes i think people who question is heart or toughness need to re-watch the 2007 wisconsin game about 50 times in a row to tattoo it in their minds just how much desire that dude has.

One thing about that game too that pokes out is his leadership skills as well. The way he ran to the bench after a TD, instead of celebrating when we were down. He's possible of many many great things.

what's insane about him doing that is that after the game some people were complaining about it and saying he was being a jerk to his teammates, instead of reminding them there was still a game going on that they had to win (which is what he was doing).

more proof you just can't make some people happy no matter what you do.

[sarcasm on]You can't expect Todd McShay to know that! He's only a paid draft analyst. You expect him to know everything about every Top 10 pick? Geez, didn't you know that ESPN deletes all of their video that dates back past the last game. Give Todd McShay a break![sarcasm off].

This is just a site I stumbled upon, but I know most of you here are Browns or Bengals fans.

2009 NFL Mock Draft

Cincinnati - Chris Wells, RB, Ohio St.
A born and bred Ohioan, Wells gets to say home at the professional level. The Bengals need help rebuilding the offense, and he is a nice start.

Cleveland - Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio St.
Jenkins has to be at the top of the Browns board and if he�s available, it�s an easy pick. Jenkins should go higher on draft day, but the Browns would be very happy to see him on the board.

I guarantee you, if you look at the track records of bun-gal and brownie, both ohio teams of course, they will somehow find ways NOT to draft Buckeye "home-grown" talent in the top 3 rounds.

Bun-gal: 1) For the past 40 years, they have only drafted 6 Buckeyes in the first 3 rounds. 2) For the past 20, only 3 Buckeyes. 3) For the past 10, ZELCH. (not only that, since 1994, bun-gals has not draft any buckeyes in any rounds)

Brownie: **Just to be fair, i'll start from the draft in 1968 as to be consistent with Bun-gal's data. HOWEVER, do note that Brownie actually had drafted more buckeyes in their franchise history than cincinnati!
1) For the past 40 years, they drafted a measly of 2 Buckeyes in the first 3 rounds. 2) Past 20, only 2 Buckeyes, PERIOD! (Craig Powell, '95, First round; Darnell Sanders, 2002, 4th round.)

Watch. They will spoil the predictions. They always do. That's why they SUCK! (sorry, bungal and brownie fans!)

The most obvious glaring problem with that mock draft is that it is dated December 17th. Hence, the draft order is incorrect. Seattle, not the Bungles, are picking 4th and the Browns are picking 5th, not 7th.

However having Wells as the first RB taken and Jenkins as the first DB taken seems to be fairly accurate.
