RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

pittman is not another ross when clarett was the star . and I bet he plays on sundays because, he is great with true speed

So Wells is really going to have to wait for when he gets his main chance.
but, when he does it might be special

Tressel was saying M. Wells had the best spring practicing and to do with pittman ,haw and wells. There will be a lot of sharing in the first few games until one of them stands out to much to split time with pittman.

I'm the biggest Chris Wells fan to and I know he will have his days but, theres 4 good backs which, OSU has not had in a long time.

Those 4 rb's and 6 wr's and smith. Tressel ball better average at least 45 points a game

I totally agree with you. The running back position is going to be sick. and win Ginn returning and Hall and Gonzales... and with the nations best QB this offense should be kick ass...

I don't want to be a downer, but how many times over the past few years have we gone into a season thinking our offense is going to kick ass and improve upon their late-season form from the year before? Seems like every year we do this, and it has led to disappointment each time as our team takes a few games to truly turn it on. I don't know, maybe this will be the year we put it all together from the start.

i think this year is a pretty solid pick for a good offense. in previous years there were new qbs coming in and last year troy and the coaching staff had not worked together in the first game. key loss was santonio but im very confident in hall being a big strong posession type of receiver.

Huge differences this year: we know who the starting QB is going to be (not only that, but he's going to be one of the best QB's returning in college ball), and we have depth at tailback (and not just depth, but a proven commodity in Pittman).

Just to put Beabie's spring into perspective...I watched MoC in 2002 at the spring game. He did nothing that stood out to me or made me think he would be special come September. But when September came around, he was very good (on the field).

Now, I think Pitmann is our guy, no doubt. But I think having the summer to learn and let things sink in will show us an even better Beanie by the time Northern Illinois rolls around. He could very well be our #2 on opening day.

comparing this years team to the last few is funny alone.
The offense has more options then the previous seasons by far

athletic smith at qb with experience

pittman with his coming out part last season to go with wells, wells and haw

ginn,gonzo,hall and 3 other wrs

nicol and frost

young talented o-line few of the top players didnt play in the spring

talented defense that just need more experience to get there respect back as OSU has had

Then you did not watch the same game I did. Maurice Clarett looked like a star in that game; I told my wife we were watching the next great Buckeye tailback.

Then, sh!t started to happen.

Maybe he was, but at least he wasn't digging for e-mails like some other recent posters.

Besides which Buckeye Commentary is linked on the front page.

Anyway, I remember back when Buckeye Commentary had a video library larger than most others on the net, all Ohio State.

I guess I'm saying cut him some slack.

Hey, I still have the video library. :) Actually, just want to clear the air from a few pages back. I'm the owner of BuckeyeCommentary, not sure who it was the linked my Wells video...but it wasn't me.

Very appreciative the gang has linked BC on the frontpage of BP.

Go Bucks!

CFN's 2006 Heisman favorites....

2006 Heisman 100
Heisman favorites 61-80

65. RB Chris Wells, Ohio State – It wouldn’t exactly be unprecedented for a true freshman back from Columbus to contend for the Heisman, and Wells actually enters Ohio State rated higher than Maurice Clarett was four years ago. He won’t supplant Antonio Pittman, but after a solid spring, showed he’s ready to contribute right away.
