RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

even if "Beanie" was the 500th ranked RB and the 15,000 ranked player with no stars, he would be a great addition to tOSU with his down to earth attitude and incredible upbringing. Can't wait to see him in scarlet and grey...

I dont know about that one. Last time i checked a good attitude and a good upbringing doesnt win football games. When you combine that with excellent potential and skill then it means something.

247, there you go bringing facts in the way of a good story:biggrin: , maybe I should have said as a walk-on, but you've got to admit the whole "Beanie" package (with no baggage) is absolutely awesome, even if he falls short of the super-stardom some of us envision, what he brings to the table will be a nice bonus.

Something folks forget is the character of a player is as important as "What he brings to the table". And you can't put a gauge on "the heart" of a player either. I think that Beanie is about as well rounded athlete as your gonna find. Yes, prove it on the field, and show it in the community.(and in the class room)
Nuff said.

He's a true power rb with ability to move very sneaky to fake other players out which looks kinda funny to watch . A big kid with moves will be nice to watch.

I posted along time ago saying he reminds me of a bo jackson type because, he runs with true power and he attacks defenders with hits like he is still playing LB but, with the ball. He will be a special kid and player for OSU.

Tomorrow aT a place called LEGIONS in NORTH CANTON HE HAS AN INTERVIEW THERE AT 6 00 IN THE EARLY EVENINGS . If anyone is interested in this area

True, and some posters or other experts ?? him as a person . I told him I wish I was half as mature he is now compared to me at 35 . He will never be a person like that pass freshman rb who was a great player but, was missing a few screws

I wouldnt really go about calling the BUS fat. He is just huge, I think Wells has a good chance of getting up around 250 and still keeping that speed.

I don't think the coaches want him to get up to 250 lbs but if he could and keep that speed he would be the most intimidating player in college football and with Aram Olson he would be part of the most intimidating backfield in college football. And yes, the Bus is fat. He's also athletic but he's still fat.

Name the freshman running back who had the biggest impact on his team winning a national championship in the last 13 years. My gut says it's Maurice Clarett. While Clarett was a special "effort" guy in between the tackles and played smart, Jim Tressel-like football on the field, he was never going to be a guy who went No. 1 in the draft. But Wells very well could go that high. He has size, speed, toughness and seems to have his life in order off the field, too. His strong running style complements that of outside-runner Antonio Pittman, the Buckeyes' returning 1,000-yard rusher. Watch the Sept. 9 game against Texas in Austin. It could be the unveiling of the next great Ohio State running back.

Even though we already all know he is something special, it's always nice to know that everybody else knows this as well.

I'm as excited about Wells in the backfield as the next guy, but I think I would hold off on calling him a possible #1 draft pick until he at least steps on the field.

That being said, I can't wait to see him meet a scUM defensive back at full speed!

What do you guys think are the chances that he takes over the starting running back position next year? I would like to think he would be situational until he at least gets one year under his belt. But if pittman gets hurt i hope he can step up and make an impact. One other thing if pittman stays his senior year watchout for quite the running back controversy....
