RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

I believe Lenix is 5'10" and 195lbs, thats quite a bit smaller than CW at 6'1" and 220 with growing left to do. I remember Lenix being this size because many people are concerned that he does not have the frame to add the 20 lbs needed to play LB at the college level.
Freddie Lenix seems to have heart, and I don't really think it matters for him to be between 195-200 or 220-230. If he makes the hits and makes it happens, then so be it. Ask Zach Thomas and Teddy Lehman about size. Cie Grant was playing around 215 when he was flipping back and forth and he did just fine. Freddie sounds like a catch and I have a great feeling about him at LB.

yeah this is definitely the guy Ohio State wants in it's future. a very talented kid that will do everything in his power to make his team better by playing his heart out, and getting talent coming in and them to play to their best abilities also. it just shows that there is a line between pure talent, and then pure talent with a great attitude.

I didnt question anything about his heart or ability to play LB - I actually agree with you. Someone compared Freddie's size to CWells size, I was just disputing it by saying he wasnt close to that size and the reason why I remembered his exact size.

Back on topic - I love everything I am reading about concerning CWells. He seems like a standup kid. I love his work ethic, DL called him an IronMan with his workout regimen. His early recruitment for the 2006 class should make this recruiting season so much more enjoyable than last. Having a stud RB to call all of the other recruits [especially OLs] is a huge advantage.

Chris, get on the phone with Boren, Brown, and Smith. Who wouldnt want to run behind these guys. Throw in Gibson, a QB, Rolle, Small, Rose. ect, and we have the best class ever. Help us out Beanie!

Agreed....This the player we needed... wanted... and we have a commitment from him. What else can be better than that in recruiting world? With Boren, Brown, & Smith, a QB, 2-3 DBs and we can have a dream class in '06

I wanted to ask a question about Chris Wells. It seems that he has a head on his shoulders that most coaches would DREAM of getting in a fantastic player. Is he as good and as highly touted as was Maurice Clarett? Because if he is, can you imagine Mo C with a good head on his shoulders?

I dont think Mo C's name should be used at all when reffering to Beanie. Mo C was a clown and this kid is not.
Well Im talking in terms of pure talent. Mo C was a complete clown there is no doubt about that, but he had world class talent. Is "beanie" in Mo C's talent class is what I am asking....

No question Beanie and several other kids in this recruiting class and on the OSU team alone are FAR SUPERIOR in terms of class.

Judging by the videos, he looks very similar in terms of speed, agility, vision and power. In terms of measurables, Beanie is taller and may be a few pounds lighter and has a similar 40 time. Beyond that, it's a matter of projecting into the future. Wells is only 16 years old and still has a full season of HS football to play.

MoC was a once in a decade splash in terms of his performance and the opportunity (consider that if say an Eddie George type of player were already at OSU and a Junior that MoC would have seen the field as a Freshman in a limited role at best), so that makes any further comparision very hard to do.

I would say just watch the videos and make up your own mind. From where I'm sitting, he looks like a very exciting player, and I completely buy into the notion that he's potentially the best junior RB in the country.
