Get a grip. There are rules on this site about posting premium info. I ws simply trying to point some people in that direction if that's what they wanted to do. :roll1:
I simply asked a question.

I'm not sure why you and the chic got so torqued off about it. :roll1:

Didnt Homan missed 1/2 the season last year with Turf toe?

Just like any injury, turf toe (if that is what it is) varies in severity. The mildest cases may only take a week or so to heal up while the most severe can take months. Let's just hope that it is closer to the former and not the later.

I'd be surprised if it is turf toe, because the surface that they play on should prevent that. But if that is what it is...then it could be bad...or could be played on all year. I still don't understand getting turf toe on this surface.

Thanks, but I don't need to "get a grip". I though I made it pretty obvious I was just agreeing with the part about paying for premium when we'll all know tomorrow anyway. I know there's rules against posting premium info because I already told that to somebody else in the thread just a few posts before yours. But as Clarity stated, there's only rules against posting the premium article, there's no rules against saying what the information is.

I don't like being admonished for simply pointing to a source to try to calm peoples nerves. If you can't deal with that, simply ignore the goddamn post and move on.

I am not very familiar with the new surface. Turf toe gets it name because of it frequently occurs on artificial surfaces, which tend to be give less and thus increase the chance for such an injury.

In any case, I really do not think there is too much to worry about. When Beanie was hobbling around the sidelines with no assistance, no crutches, etc., that tells me that this is probably not serious. If I was a betting man, I would bet that he will rest next week and be back for USC. If not then Mo Wells, Herron and Saine will have to figure out how to get it done.

Ohio State football: X-rays negative on Wells' foot
by Doug Lesmerises

...

Teammate Ryan Pretorius said Wells told him the injury was to his right big toe, and an OSU source confirmed the injury was to the front of Wells' foot. Wells battled ankle problems early last season, but that was in his left ankle.

"I may have rolled it or planted wrong a play or two before," Wells said through Ohio State spokeswoman Shelly Poe. "Something just didn't feel right. Then I think I felt a pop. But the X-rays are OK, so we'll see how it feels in a day or two."

Wells left to meet with team doctors immediately after the game and was not available for postgame interviews.

According to one of Beanie's relatives who happened to immediately know what's wrong and called in to Fox Sports Radio says it's a torn ligament in his toe.

Now, I'm no doctor, but it seems to me if it was a torn ligament, I don't think he'd be walking on it, boot or not.

Right, and thatd be pretty tough to determine unless an MRI has been done. Which it might have, but we dont know it!

A torn ligament would be bad. If so, he's out for USC. And you're right, I don't think he'd be out walking on it, if that was the case. As for the supposed relative, I'd bet that is.......

What I do know about the subject (which isn't all that much, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night) is that a first degree sprain of the joint there would be a negative x-ray with plantar pain, and little to no inability to walk. That's what I saw there. He was able to walk, with a boot, was grabbing at what looked to be the bottom of his foot or toward the middle, and had a negative x-ray. If that's what it is, a 1st degree case of turf toe, he can play through it and it'll heal up fairly quickly.

If it were worse than that, a 2nd degree case of turf toe, he probably would have needed crutches, and he would have had swelling. I didn't hear of any swelling and he didn't seem all that tender when they were working on him.

But I'll have to look back and see what kinds of reactions he was having. I feel confident he'll be okay.

Maybe you should offer your services, shetuck. You could just forward them the Trey McNeil thread as a resume. :tongue2:

In regards to Beanie's injury, given how cautious the med staff is with injuries of any type, I can't believe they'd let Beanie stroll around if there were even a possibility of it being something serious. No doubt he will be held out next week as a precaution, maybe a token carry or two, if he's able to practice during the week. The most important thing is Beanie's health. Get well soon, Beanie!
