Nice link.

"I feel bad. Gosh, I ask myself what it's going to take to win that game. I know we're not the only school to go through something like this and that the cycle will turn.

"But will it turn while I'm here? I can't answer that."

*raises hand*

Oh! Oh! Oh! Mr Kotter! Mr Kotter!!!

Adding this Dick Tressel quote from the above article, so it doesn't appear that he was implying that a Northwestern tackler 'cranked' the ankle after Beanie was down.

"The concern is that somebody at the bottom of the stack, to get him down, cranks on his lower leg. It wasn't like his ankle gave out -- it wasn't an illegal tackle or anything like that, but his ankle that had been twisted (previously), as he carried the ball and got tackled, got rolled over on.

Not to hijack Beanie's thread, but I spent my freshman year of college playing D-2 football in the state of _ichigan and the school was littered w/ scUM fans and actually a few Michigan State transfers.

I remember it well: our 1996 season ended the weekend before, when OSU beat IU in Bloomington to secure the Big 10 title, and we were all set to play scUM in the Shoe with an NC on the game. Unfortunately, this was the Shawn Springs slip game.

After the 13-9 loss to scUM in Ohio Stadium, I had to hear that day, the rest of the week, and the rest of the school year about the maize and blue. It was pure hell for a kid whose entire had family graduated from Ohio State - what could I say? They were right.

I am so thankful of Tressel and what he's brought back to the program: an ingrained sense of pride in what it means to be a Buckeye, wins in bowl games, Big Ten championships, a team to be proud of both on and off the field (Antonio Henton notwithstanding), and most importantly, whooping those arrogant people up north. I have met Coach Tress several times and I think he is a one-in-a-million guy.

Go Bucks - Beanie, get better. I want to see you stomp on the hearts of Ann Arbor on 11/17/07.
:oh:

Ohio State's Chris "Beanie" Wells, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, tries to stiff-arm his way past Minnesota's Dominique Barber in the second half.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Chris "Beanie" Wells was feeling sort of eenie-meanie last night after his fourth straight 100-yard game for Ohio State.
He had just rushed for 116 yards, scored the first two touchdowns in OSU's 30-7 win over Minnesota and provided the key play late in the second quarter that helped the Buckeyes take control.
But that's not what he was going to remember most.
"I fumbled today, and I'm very disappointed about that," said Wells, who thought he'd left that problem (four last season) behind. "I wasn't focused on the game, and I was thinking about my ankle too much."

I would like to personally apologize to the fans, coaches, and most of all Beanie, in some weird cosmic hiccup I am the reason he fumbled... In my semi-drunken state I made a comment to my family how impressed I am that beanie is going down when there is no reason to fight and thus creating no oppurtunities for a fumble. Then on the drive after I said that he fumbled... I fully accept the ire of Buckeye Nation, this was not Mr. Wells' fault.

I'd like to see us keep feeding the ball to Beanie so he can take over a game by himself. However, do to his ankle and the fact that we're obviously trying not to wear him down, I don't think we will see that until the end of the year or maybe not until next year.

If we are able to keep him fresh I think that will be key to winning our last few games.
