RB Bri'onte Dunn (dismissed from team)

From the Canton Rep:
the disorderly conduct charge .... then impeding the flow of traffic for about 25 minutes as police searched for marijuana.
Going back to basics, I was unable ti see evidence that traffic flow was impeded, even though the officers did leave the doors open. A friend of mine left the door open while dealing with a baby seat and had to pay a fine.

Wow. Role model behavior from Mr Dunn! He endured a psychological work over from the officers and his friend, but displayed honorable behavior. That is quite hard to do. Mr Dunn receives my highest commendation.

The whole thing about pulling a cup out of the trunk to provide a sample seems like it had to been a case of the officers being economical with the truth in order to scare them? It just does not compute to have someone fill up a cup either inside or outside the car with the videos rolling and cars driving by, especially if either lied about their age.

Fresh legs: There might not be much separation between the two healthy running backs, but one of them has to take the first snap.

Based on an encouraging training camp and the early returns from the first 12 carries of his career, that nod will go to true freshman Bri'onte Dunn on Saturday against California.

"He and Rod [Smith] are very close," Meyer said. "I think they?re both big, talented backs. For whatever reason, the productivity has not been there. What I like about Bri?onte is really what I like about Rod -- they?re big, physical guys that can accelerate.

"There?s not many more talented."

Both of the guys listed ahead of Dunn entering the season are dealing with injuries, and Carlos Hyde has officially been ruled out with a knee sprain.

The projected starter coming out of spring practice could potentially return this week to reclaim that job, though Jordan Hall's status is still up in the air pending his practice performances on Tuesday and Wednesday. The senior has been medically cleared, but after missing all of training camp and the first two games, some rust would be expected and could make Dunn the safer choice either way.

"Bri'onte is talented and he?s big and he hits it real hard," Meyer said. "Our coaches, especially our defensive coaches, think very highly of him."

Ohio State spotlight: RB Bri?onte Dunn
By Tim May
The Columbus Dispatch Friday September 14, 2012

Three games into his freshman season, it appears the time has come for Bri?onte Dunn.

The running back from GlenOak High School in Canton might get his first collegiate start, against California. Call it a battlefield promotion of sorts: Carlos Hyde, who began the season as a starter, is out because of a sprained right knee; Jordan Hall, expected to be a major part of coach Urban Meyer?s spread offense, has been out since the summer because of a cut tendon in his right foot; and sophomore Rod Smith has the physical tools but still needs polish.

Whatever the circumstance, Dunn is expected to see plenty of action today, though Smith could get some carries, as well.

?I think he and Rod are very close (in competition),? coach Urban Meyer said. ?I think they?re both big, talented backs who, for whatever reason, the productivity has not been there.

?What I like about Bri?onte is what I like about Rod ? they?re big, physical guys who can accelerate. There aren?t many more talented, but they?re both young, and they?ve both not produced at their ability level.?

While Smith is in his third year at OSU, though, Dunn is entering just his third game.

?So it?s not fair to (compare him) with someone who has been here a few years,? Meyer said. ?But (Dunn) is talented, he?s big, and he hits it real hard.

?Our coaches, especially our defensive coaches, think really highly of him.?

i think he returned a kick....but no carries...it would have been nice to see him run, considering how hard he runs..he shoulda got some carries when it was 20-7, then maybe the offense would't have stalled

but...jordan hall broke a good few runs and so did that other running back we have

which other running back? (are you referring to braxton?) because I don't think boren or rod smith touched the ball either. frankly, i thought jordan hall looked pretty bad.
