RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

hmm... talk of running track and the '08 Olympics... i knew he was fast, but... wow.

I saw that too... if Butch sees that potential on the track then count me in the group that would love to see him running next spring. IF Saine ends up running (which he said he hasn't made up his mind yet) his best bet on the world scene is probably in the 400... qualifying for the US trials is not the walk in the park as some think, let alone qualifying for the Olympics.

Mo Hall's career return record is in jeopardy the instant Saine steps on campus. If Teddy didn't leave early he could have gotten it with a great senior season. As a freshman Saine should be seeing return duty in the least.

I don't think any of us will be able to fully appreciate Saine's commitment until we see him on the field. I know that we're all very high on him, but every now and then there is a recruit who just blows you away regardless of how many stars he had. I think Saine is one of them and I expect him to contribute early in a multitude of ways...not just in ST.

This has little to do with Saine himself, but I made a wrong turn in Sidney 2 weeks ago, trying to head southeast on 12, and ended up turning around in, of all places, Piqua HS parking lot. For those familiar, yes I was lost. There was a sign on the way into town stating Piqua was home to 2006 Mr. Football Brandon Saine. Shoulda took a friggin picture. Sorry to bore you, but I warned you. :)

I'm not so sure. Not saying that Saine won't be a great returner, but teams kicked away from Teddy and they'll do the same after Brandon returns a ount and/or a kickoff for a TD. Opponents never kicked away from Mo Hall...I don't recall Mo ever coming close to returning one for a TD. Mo was a solid, consistent returner would got to field nearly every kickoff for, what, three years...that's why he's the career kickoff return yardage leader.

Brandon Saine

I have heard a lot about this guy from other Ohio State fans. He is a good sized back with Olympic type speed they told me. Some of them even said he may eventually be better than Pittman and Wells. I was just wondering if I could get some more information on this guy from you guys. I think he will do great at Ohio State and I am anxious to watch him play for Ohio State. Also, he plays Running Back but is there a chance he switches positions in order to get playing time, since Wells is pretty much going to carry the whole load next year. Or, is it possible he red shirts. Any information would help. If you have any links to videos of him, that would be awesome, too. Thanks. :osu2:
