RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

Dang, is he really up to 206? Solid.

Most likely. I saw a picture of him this season in the paper and he looked huge. I would have to think Saine is a pretty high up priority, but I still would think Stephens is our #1 priority. Granted I haven't seen Stephens in person as I have Saine, I still think Stephens could be the best RB in the country. While Saine and Williams are very talented, I think Stephens is a step ahead. Just my opionion. Also the rushing stats aren't accurate. I know he had over 1,000 yards this year for a fact.

Saine seems to have the same measurables as one Erik Haw...mind blowing speed and very powerfully build.
He seems to have a tight muscle structure from the pictures I have seen. He looks very explosive. DL compared him to DeShaun Foster in terms of type of RB.

I also read rumors that he has since soured on scUM because they didnt follow through on some claims they made last summer. Should be an interesting battle. This staff only makes early offers to recruits that they think they have a really good shot at.

Stephens wont be a top priority unless, he shows the staff that he is really interested. Even know he has ties to tOSU, it will still be hard to get a top notch player out of Texas.

That is why we are going after guys in the Midwest right now.

I would say Saine is our top priority and I also agree with Gobucks19.

It appears that Stephens is very interested in us. I'm thinking that they wanted to offer one Ohio RB now between Williams and Saine. Saine has the grades so he got it. We apparently have an offer out to Dale Martin but I have to ask this. Do we have a better chance with Martin than with Stephens? From what I've read we have a much better shot at Stephens than Martin. Both OOS, likely highly ranked guys and yet Martin gets the offer first. Not sure we haven't offered Stephens due to interest. This is just my opinion.

I agree with your thinking...but don't forget about Clay either.

I was just told today that Saine is VERY into scum...my friend who played football with him said that he and his family have been michigan fans since for a while...take it for what it's worth...

More of a childhood favorite for him. Don't look for this to play a very big role here. Keep in mind Chris Wells was into scUM and commited here early. Two different kids but the point is that childhood favorites aren't always the deciding factor. It looks to be a battle for Saine though.
