RB Brandon "Zoom" Saine (official thread)

Brandon seems to be blessed with all the game changing tools of Ginn Jr.
Saine is much stronger... but doesn't have much wiggle (change of direction) like Teddy. I'm excited that he's coming to OSU, but he's a different athlete than TGII.

FWIW I believe those stats are only updated through nine games.
Yes, though they have the 10/27 Northmont score linked in on the same page, yet do not have the Grove City 8/25 game listed. I could not decide whether they had Northmont listed as played, but not calculated into the totals, or Grove City as simply omitted from the played games, or the totals or both. I guess you could say it was confusing to me, though I suspect you are right, it is the Northmont totals that should be added to those on the DDN page.
Perhaps we will see a complete stats summary after the coaches and staffs have submitted the data back to the HS Athletics Association.

Great Talent

Saine had a good game but not a great game. Dane and Piqua's QB Hemm were the best two football players on the field last night in that order. The Irish did a good job of containing Saine but he did rip off one long run. Saine showed some great hands out of the backfield on a couple of plays, but I think he plays RB at tOSU. This was the first time seeing Saine in person and he passes the look test. He looked a little raw and danced around a little to much instead of making his cuts to go up field. If Pitt stays I think that Saine should red shirt and he should go on to have a great RB career at tOSU. GO BUCKS!!!

Piqua ousts defending state champs

Dayton Daily News

Saturday, November 04, 2006
It was not Ohio State-bound running back Brandon Saine who carried Piqua to a 33-14 defeat of defending state Division II champion Toledo Central Catholic. The Irish defense was ready for Saine, but not for quarterback Justin Hemm.
Hemm rushed 15 times for 159 yards and a touchdown and was 8-of-11 passing for 147 yards and three touchdowns in the opening round of the D-II, Region 6 high school football playoffs at Lake Stadium in Toledo. Phillip Collier caught all three scoring strikes, covering 18, 39 and 54 yards.
Piqua led 21-14 at the half and held the ball all but 1:46 of the third quarter. Saine scored on the first play of the fourth quarter to make it 28-14. Central Catholic senior WR/DB Dane Sanzenbacher will join Saine at OSU and was outstanding for the Irish. He had 12 catches for 195 yards, ran for a TD, intercepted a pass and blocked an extra point.
Piqua plays Wapakoneta in the regional quarterfinals next Friday. Both are 10-1.
