By Tom Archdeacon

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ? Add some hound dog jowls and a herky-jerky delivery and Antonio Pittman would be a dead ringer for Rodney Dangerfield.
While it wasn't a stand-up ? Pittman was sitting on a makeshift stage Wednesday ? he had that "can't get no respect" routine down pat.

By Doug Harris and Kyle Nagel

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ? The three Ohio State juniors still mulling decisions about whether to turn pro were mum on their plans Wednesday, but tailback Antonio Pittman liked what the NFL had to say about his potential draft status.
"I'm not going to tell you what it was, but it's a good thing," he said.

one could say that but id say our offensive line is getting more and more dominant as time goes on. QB position isnt just a newbie. experiencewise the worst we could do is henton who redshirted this year and has the year to get the schemes and practice down. WRs are not taking too big of a hit if ted leaves. small is a ginn clone, dukes will get playing time, gonzo is a go to guy, robo is robo, plus you still have hartline, nichol, and ballard.
yes, our receiving core & line will be fine. the qb battle will be interesting. boeckman seems to be the heir if troy & zwick we're gone tommorrow, but i'm a schoneoff fan and he's no slouch. plus from what i've heard about henton he may be ready to take over already. the best player will play.

but heres why pittman is better off leaving, IMO. with the defensive gameplan week in & week out is stop troy smith, it opens up the run game. not to mention regaurdless of the qb next year they wont be as talented and trusted by JT as troy was, making our offense less dynamic. when you add chris wells splitting carries with him (and whoever said JT is loyal and will help pittman by not giving wells as many carries is way off - by that logic chris wells should have been red shirted this year and pittman should have grabbed his numbers - once again the best player will play and their running styles compliment and make them a great 1-2 punch) his numbers by projection should be considerably lower next year than this year. if i was AP i would go. as a fan, of course i want him to stay.

I kinda disagree...I know that with a good game his supposed stock may not be higher...but would him splitting carries be that bad...it worked well for the auburn boys a few years ago...for all we know he could have a pretty good season because he is getting more rest...going along with that we would be a run first team with a new quarterback...I think the him working with beanie for another year would benefit them both...with that said I think he is gone but i'd really like him to stay

Permanent reminder

Ohio State junior running back Antonio Pittman remembers the big brother he lost with a tattoo and finds a little brother in the Buckeyes backfield
Sunday, January 07, 2007 Doug Lesmerises
Plain Dealer Reporter
Glendale, Ariz.- To understand Antonio Pittman's brother in the backfield, you must know the brother on his left arm.
Two summers ago, Pittman asked his mother, Valerie, for a baby photo of his older brother, Anthony. She thought the youngest of her five children would frame it or mount it on a piece of art for her. Antonio came home days later showing off his left biceps where Anthony's picture had been tattooed, now a permanent part of the brother on whom he'd already left his mark.

Tailback Antonio Pittman will announce his decision Monday at his Akron high school.
Not to read too much into it, but that sounds like he'll be heading to the NFL. Announcing from one's high school sounds like moving on to me. Not unexpected. Either way, Antonio's been a true Buckeye.
