Don't you mean egocentric and delusional? That's what hating-bengal-fan says.

StadiumDorm;617791; said:That, I will give to Bengals fans. They were never "delusional". They knew their team sucked, and that's why they didn't waste their time supporting them from '88 to '03.
Because it works better if the Browns get to keep the .... ummm.... Browns history. It tends to make sense for everybody that way if the team with the name keeps the history. The NFL likes to be logical like that.
The name sure hasn't helped them achieve success as of yet.You see, the NFL knew that a franchise in Cleveland wasn't going to be successful without the name.
If that's a source of frustration for you, good. It makes me feel better to know that there are people like you out upset over such insignifcant details. And funny too, I might add.

Lets be somewhat reasonable here. You're talking about franchises that existed for 2 and 3 years as opposed to a franchise with a fifty year history prior to a three year lapse.buckeyegrad;617825; said:If consistency was in play, which is really my only point here, then the Houston Texans should get the 1960-1962 history of the Chiefs, correct? Likewise, if a new NFL team started and called themselves the Spartans, they should get the Detroit Lion's history from 1930-1933 because it would have the team's old name?
buckeyegrad;617826; said:I said that and I'm not a Bengals fan. I'm just someone who finds Browns fans to be absurd and whiny. Sorry to disappoint.
Oh good God this is humorous. I love how the Bengals "fans" now make regular appearances in Browns threads to rag on a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 3 seasons (yes, will be four after this season). Fans of a franchise that was the picture of ineptitude for over a decade have zero rope to bring into another teams thread. There is nothing funnier to me than seeing people walking around in Palmer and Johnson jerseys like card carrying members of the Bengals diehard fan club. I'd love to see some proof of your devotion from 1991-2002. Got any Akili Smith jerseys you can dust off? Ki-Jana Carter? Maybe a Klingler?![]()

I can match that Couch jersey...I still own one, Courtney Brown too.jlb1705;617888; said:Haha! I see those Bengals jerseys, and raise a Tim Couch and an Andre Rison.
Playoff wins in the last 15 years:
Browns: 1
Bengals: 0
And the Browns didn't even exist for a few of those 15 years. In the time since the Browns claimed that playoff win, they were uprooted and renamed, existed in name only for a few years, reconstituted as an expansion franchise, consistently had the poorest drafts in the NFL, were coached by Chris Palmer and Butch Davis, and STILL managed to make another playoff appearance before the Bengals could muster just one.

You misunderstand my intentions. My purpose is simply to annoy you Browns fans. I could care less about all of this.
