Ravens(-6.5) at Browns

I think making the playoffs in 2002 qualifies as a reprieve from the "suck" category. So that makes your rant moot as the Browns have only sucked for four years in a row now.

Good point....by the way who was it that cost the browns a game that year when he took his helmet off when Morton Anderson miss a FG? I know it was a vet they had signed that year but can't remember right now.

Dwayne Rudd. It was the first game of the year against the Chiefs, not during a kick. And yes, I did drink heavily afterwards.

Thats right, I just remember seeing that game thinking if the Browns miss the playoffs by one game Rudd would have to be fearful of someone trying to kill him.

Do the colts history started over when they move from Baltimore to Indy? How about Tennesse? Do they actually have three histories? One as the Houston Oilers, one as the Tenn Oilers and now as the Titans? Did the Texans get to take Kansas City's History since they used to be the Texans, but now Houston is the Texans? The Rams were in Chicago at one point did they leave the history or did they get to bring it with them? What about the raiders, is part of the history left in LA? and then they have two other histories in Oakland?

Thank you, you just made my point. The history is with the cities and the team name...and the Browns have always been in Cleveland.

You are certainly living up to your user name, but you should expand it from just Buckeye knowledge.

And yet I still see 30-35 Browns fans there on Sunday when going in, we all thought it could be ugly. Why? Loyalty and guarded optimism. And maybe that's funny to Bengals' fans, only because they don't know what that is.

I guess what one person calls "loyalty" and "guarded optimism" another calls "egocentricism" and "delusional", but hey, maybe that is just me.

Actually buckeyefool, the Rams were originally in Cleveland. You see, the city and its fans have failed to keep two teams over the last 61 years. Of course, this raises the interesting question of why the St. Louis Rams get to include the 1937-1945 seasons in Cleveland as part of their history (which includes an NFL championship), but the Balitmore Ravens do not get to include the 1950-1995 seasons in Cleveland as part of their history. Why the inconsistency? Simple...politics.

That, I will give to Bengals fans. They were never "delusional". They knew their team sucked, and that's why they didn't waste their time supporting them from '88 to '03.

Because it works better if the Browns get to keep the .... ummm.... Browns history. It tends to make sense for everybody that way if the team with the name keeps the history. The NFL likes to be logical like that.

You see, the NFL knew that a franchise in Cleveland wasn't going to be successful without the name. And with the name, they knew the team would sell out every game. And of course, we stubborn fans wanted our history to go with the name. Thankfully, the NFL thought enough of us to let the city of Cleveland keep the history.

If that's a source of frustration for you, good. It makes me feel better to know that there are people like you out upset over such insignifcant details. And funny too, I might add.

Oh good God this is humorous. I love how the Bengals "fans" now make regular appearances in Browns threads to rag on a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 3 seasons (yes, will be four after this season). Fans of a franchise that was the picture of ineptitude for over a decade have zero rope to bring into another teams thread. There is nothing funnier to me than seeing people walking around in Palmer and Johnson jerseys like card carrying members of the Bengals diehard fan club. I'd love to see some proof of your devotion from 1991-2002. Got any Akili Smith jerseys you can dust off? Ki-Jana Carter? Maybe a Klingler? :slappy:
