I got pretty excited in the off season about all the key free agents that we got. But when you think about it, not one has made any substantial impact. Bentley...out, Jurivicious...out, McGinnis...hasn't done shit. I guess big Ted is the only one who has really helped.

Then you figure in having Winslow and Braylon back...there was a real reason to be optimistic.

Hmm...great route runner and blocker...sure hands in the red zone...and both being good examples/teachers for our young WR's and LB's. I'd say that would help a young team.

Keep plugging away though, ball sack.:tibor:

McGinest was brought in to mentor some of the younger players and provide a veteran influence on the defense, and yes that does help. Maybe not in the stat book but it does help. You can't fault the D when they get almost no time to rest throughout a game. Unfortunately when you lose the anchor of the O-Line and the rest of the line sucks the entire offense is rendered impotent. WHy they gave all that contract to Schaffer(sp?) I'll never understand, he's awful.

I'm on pins and needles wondering what backups and over the hill players you're going to get in offseason next year.

Falcon fans were dancing and laughing in the streets when we took him and gave him that much money. Our staff tried to argue that it was hard to protect Vick b/c he scrambled so much, but others said that Schaeffer just sucked. I think group B was right.

Ohio State Marching Band at Browns Stadium today

The Ohio State Marching Band played during half time today. Geez, I wish I could of seen them but that would of meant I would of had to buy a ticket to the Browns game. Sorry I am not a Browns fan. But neithertheless, I still was rooting for them to beat Baltimore.

The band had their usual great performance. They only brought up about half of the group, but did Sloopy, a double Script Ohio, and Across the Field.

A piped in version of Sloopy is apparently a standard during the 2 minute warning this year.

Saints and Ravens.

This Browns team is actually decent. Winslow and Edwards are top tier players at their positions, and the defense is coming along great, especially the newbies. It's easy to get down after such a tough loss, but you can finally see how far this team has come and is going.

Frye played a heck of game, despite the fact that maybe two offensive lineman actually blocked during the game. Winslow, IF he can keep his mouth shut, is almost uncoverable. The lack of a running game and pass protection is killing this team. If they can find that before the start of next season, this team is a playoff team.

Now watch them get their butts handed to them next week at shitty Oakland to spite my optimism.
