Ohio State coach Urban Meyer stopped at Paramus Catholic last week to check on Gary. Today Buckeye defensive line coach Larry Johnson stopped at Gary’s school.

“Yeah, he was here,” Gary said. “I shook his hand.”

Today was not the first time Gary has met Johnson. Gary and Johnson have known each other since Johnson was the defensive line coach at Penn State two years ago.

Chris Partridge, former Paramus Catholic football coach, hired by Michigan

Chris Partridge is now a Michigan Man.

Several sources close to Partridge confirmed to The Record on Saturday that the former Paramus Catholic football coach has accepted a job as recruiting operations coordinator for the Wolverines program.

“This opportunity is so good, because he gets to touch the nation in terms of recruiting and really get a good grasp of a program’s goals,” new Paramus Catholic coach Blake Costanzo said. “It’s going to be a good opportunity to broaden his horizons for the future. It’s a big step for him.”

When asked last week about the possibility of working at Michigan, Partridge said he had worked with a lot of programs who recruited his players during the last five years at Paramus Catholic, but “there was something special going on there,” and the program has been energized by the hiring of former San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.
