Question about the 1998 MSU/OSU game...

When Daimon Moore returned the interception for the TD, did he injure his shoulder when he dove knocking him out of the game? I never noticed anything while at the game, but people have mentioned how his dive contributed to the loss. Anybody remember?

I'm not sure about that, but as long as we're on the subject:

Neal Colzie was off the field due to an injury when Levi Jackson went 88 yards in the 4th quarter to give MSU the lead in the 4th quarter. :(

edit - 1974 game, for the youngsters wondering what I'm talking about

98 sparty game

i believe he injured his shoulder thanks to his headfirst dive into the endzone. i didnt notice that he had hurt himself at the time but i read about it later.

Before the dive Damon Moore had already been dealing with recovering from a separated shoulder, diving into the end zone, aggravated the injury. While it may have affected his play, it didn?t keep him out of the game.

the fact the team was flat, and didnt show up lost the game. some say moore or bostons drops or wileys game. it never should have been a game had they decided to show up and play...

The Bucks were up 24-9 midway through the 3rd quarter, and had just forced MSU to punt from deep in their own territory. The Bucks had played well up till that point. Then, the muffed punt, and the wheels fell off. I'm not sure that it would be accurate to say that the Bucks "didn't show up" that day - it's more like they showed up, then left early.

Moore had a couple tackles and a pass defensed after the interception. His last tackle was on Sedrick Irvin on the final play of the 3rd. Looking through the play-by-play of the fourth, all tackles were made by other starters. McClellion didn't play that week, so I guess Percy King would have come in.

Forgotten about the muffed punt. The Shoe was rockin' after we forced them to go 3 and out on the posession after Daimon's INT. More likely, I blocked the memory out. :smash:

Now it's coming back to me - the punt wasn't muffed. It was short and hit one of our guys in the back. Boston was sleeping and I don't think told him to get out of the way. I forget who it was, but I think it was a freshman. :smash: again
