QB1 Will Howard (National Champion)

Low key maybe my favorite QB we’ve had. He’s accurate, he can run, and man does he bring fire to a team that really really needs it.

He does make 1-2 really dumb plays a game but I can’t say enough about the guy. I think if the coaches opened things up he’d throw for 400 if he needed to and I think he could rush for 100 if he needed to.

Glad he’s a Buckeye.

Yeah it’s pretty close… I think Howard is more accurate and the more dynamic thrower though. I always thought JT maybe made less mistakes but didn’t take many chances. Probably lead to not as many big plays but the plus of JT was he normally wasn’t going to make a bad turnover.

Will might turn the ball over once per game but he’s going to make big time plays. JT was also fiery behind close doors but on the field kept cool. Where as it seems Howard is the opposite which I think is where he might bring the most to the table.

I think some of that had to do with Meyer having Barrett on a leash and limiting him in the offense.
Either way, both very solid, great leaders. And great fits in the offenses they ran

I agree that Howard’s fire and playmaking ability are huge for this team. But he HAS to take better care of the rock down the stretch. Like it played out in Oregon, those mistakes will lose games against good teams.

Agreed… I think he can make mistakes and I don’t want him not pulling the trigger. Just has to avoid giving up six points which he did twice yesterday.

This below video solidifies this guy as one of my favorites. Some guys just bring jet fuel to the games.

GOOD GUY WILL HOWARD. When Howard took the podium on Tuesday, he didn’t answer questions immediately. Instead, he had a message about his attire, which featured a white sweatshirt with a scarlet script Ohio across the chest.


“The sweatshirt I’m wearing, I got it signed by a couple of cancer patients the other night,” Howard said. “I went out to their fashion show night briefly after practice last Wednesday and got to spend some time with some of those kids. I just wanted to shed a little light on them. They’re the real heroes. They’re fighting the real battles.”

Another reason Howard wore the sweatshirt was to promote Ohio State’s BuckeyeThon, “a student-run philanthropy in the state of Ohio which raises funds and awareness for the Hematology, Oncology and Blood & Marrow Transplant Unit at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus,” its website states. Howard hopes increased awareness for BuckeyeThon will help Ohio State reach the same level of emotional and financial support Penn State generates with THON.

“We took down Penn State this week, and they have the biggest ‘thon’ in the country,” he said. “It’s really cool what they do. I think it’d be cool if we could make BuckeyeThon that big, too. So I just wanted to shed some light on it.”

Have I mentioned that each time Howard speaks I like him more? The comments above are the best comments he’s made since he arrived at Ohio State. That must mean I like him the most that I have since he arrived at Ohio State!

I had a chance to meet him over the summer, I asked him how he liked Columbus and the crazy fans - he lit right up. I'm sure most of you do in real time, but if not, go back and listen to his pressers and pay attention to when asked about what it's like being a Buckeye. You can tell he really loves it and enjoys being a part of the tradition and something bigger. I'm really rooting for him, I don't think he has as much arm talent as McCord, but, he's no slouch and if he can put it all together here... look the f*** out. Kid can play, the aforementioned 1-2 mistakes are totally off the wall crazy retarded :slappy: hopefully it all comes together before IU and we make a run through everyone's chest.
