QB1 Julian Sayin (National Champion)

Oh god oh god I really hope he didn't get his foot down please please please tell me he didn't get his foot down awwww dammit.

Remind me to tune in to the spanish announcers next time we get a CBS game. I don't speak spanish.
Oh Dios, oh Dios, realmente espero que no haya pisado el pie, por favor, por favor, por favor, dime que no lo hizo, maldita sea.

I need AI to cut out the talking heads during gameday and just let me hear the crowd. That's all I need.

In a hostile environment, Day and Brian Hartline handcuffed Sayin early. On Ohio State’s first two possessions, he attempted just four passes while the Buckeyes ran 11 times. When that approach led to a 3-0 deficit, Day and Hartline finally let Sayin sling it. He connected on 5 of 6 throws for 54 yards, including an 18-yard strike to Jeremiah Smith, giving Ohio State a 7-3 halftime lead.

After the break, Sayin immediately went to work, completing 8 of 9 passes for 62 yards as the Buckeyes marched 75 yards to the end zone, taking 7:41 off the clock. Across those two game-changing drives, he hit 13 of 15 throws for 116 yards and a touchdown. Sayin was also lethal on third downs, connecting on 4 of 5 passes for 79 yards, with all four completions keeping drives alive.

Thus far this season Julian has led a number of 70 to 80 yard drives, demonstrating that he is more than a one shot wonder. He is hitting 7-8 different receivers every game and taking what the defense is giving. Plus he is flawless in throws 20 yds or more. Against UW he showed a mobility that we will need as the season progresses. He is calm and confident with a humble demeanor. The best QB in the BIG imho. He's going to light it up against Minny.

I liked him a lot when he was with Blackledge (I think). The main problem Saturday was Danielson, but Nessler wasn't all that good either.
As for announcers, you kids are spoiled. I had to watch years with Mel Allen, who knew nothing about football because it wasn't happening in New York and didn't involve the Yankees, or Chris Schenkle, who could not pass the shit or Shineola test.

Danielson 100% still has a lot of that SEC superiority complex with a bias against Ohio State, and it bled into the broadcast Saturday. Danielson was openly rooting for Washington and it tainted the call. I think the most obvious example was a clear catch on the sideline by Max Klare that wasn't even in question, and Danielson was calling for a booth review before the next snap, when the broadcast replay came up and Max easily got 2 feet in by time he stepped out.

And then there are those moments when McAfee and Desmond "Dipshit" Howard are on air at the same time.

(Here's a BP Pro Tip for those of you who are new to the site: The last two posts are what is known as "Post Padding." It's disapproved by the elitist pricks who run this site unless you also include chips of lead-based paint for them to munch on.)

Meanwhile, this is the second game in which Sayin has either not been given the chance to throw deep, or no one is getting deep. I noted that the Husky DBs, especially the safeties, seemed determined to keep the throws in front of them.

Points to you, I had to look up ol' Gordon of wrasslin' and stock car fame. Omar Williams called the bouts in Dayton featuring Chief Don Eagle (the good Indian, who would go on the war path when the refs wouldn't do anything to stop the cheatin' bad guys). My personal favorites were the midget (Imagine, you could use the word midget then) tag team matches.

How dare you impugn the Gordon Solie of professional bowling!
Off topic, but in my younger years in the 70s, the PBA Nationals were held every year at Imperial Lanes in Toledo. I was a damn good bowler in High School and several local leagues after I graduated. I bowled in the Pro Am several times and got to meet and bowl with guys like Dick Weber, Earl Anthony, Mark Roth and others. The Pro Am was always on Friday with the televised finals on Saturday. One year I found myself sitting at the Imperial Lanes bar with Schenkele, Mark Roth and Dick Weber. What a bunch of characters! Had one hell of a time.
