QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

One word, Swagger. Terrelle has lots of it. He pops up after every hit like he isn't phased in the least, he even let USC's defense know that he isn't afraid of them. I don't think the word advercity is in Terrelles vocabulary, he plays with the same calm, yet feroucous and agressive attitude no matter how the odds are stacked. Thats the kind of attitude that MAKES offensive momentumm. He's bound to make mistakes, but hes not the type to just wallow in sorry or give up. I think our offense is in better hands with Terrelle consistantly moving the chains.

Are you going to back that up?
Sure . To me one thing a great Qb has is the Ego, the confidence in himself. A feeling that "I am better than the other team all by myeslf"
A Namath Ego would be a good example.
JMO but I think Pryor has that.

Not sure what 'ego' meant in the dark ages :p, but it typically has a negative connotation these days, especially regarding athletes before they've proven themselves. These two definitions sum it up pretty well
An exaggerated sense of self-importance; conceit.
an inflated feeling of pride in your superiority to others
Now great players do often have sizeable egos, but summing up their attitude with that word often refers to an attitude that "out-talks the walk"

To me it just means a lot of confidence in yourself. Now I know that at times it applies to a buffoon or thinking more of oneself than is due but it also makes people happy with themselves, and also exudes a lot of confidence in oneself.
a lot of players have "ego" without going over board with it.

Simply put, the kid is a playmaker. It may not be the prettiest or very crisp, but if it can be done, I think TP has the play making ability to get it done.

The guy is a winner.

He looks pretty damn crisp for a true frosh. He showed some nice accuracy and the appropriate velocity on his throws against USC, plus his release is way quicker than Boeckman's. Even one of his incompletions was a very good throw; the deep pass down the sideline intended for Hartline(I think). Two USC defenders were on him tight but Pryor still managed to put it where either Hartline was going to catch it or no one was going to catch it.

Here's a video of his throws. Crappy quality but you can still make out the plays. His screen passes are excellent. They always lead the receiver. Boeckman's take too long to get to the receiver, are usually late, and force the receiver to stop in order to catch them. Look at Ray Small. If he has to stop for that screen pass towards the beginning of the vid, Cushing probably holds him to a small gain instead of being left in the dust.

That's a good point. His swing passes allow the WR to keep his momentum and therefore have the opportunity for more yards. and although they are simple throws he has god accuracy and zip.

I'm interested to see how he plays Saturday and if he throws more mid-range and long passes or if Tressel keeps it simple.

Throwing midrange passes would be good enough. We really haven't seen his long ball yet. In any case, let's open things up and send our WR corp all over hells half acre and score about 100 points on the Trojans. That should demoralize them (but keep it simple :)). We really need to seen this game as an offensive freaking explosion.

Ehh, "One Mans terrorist is another freedom fighter"

I think the kid has the ego when he steps on the field, but its a good thing. For him to think "Im the best QB out here" is a plus because it prevents second guessing, double clutching, timidness, etc. You have to be cocky on the field to step under center at The Ohio State University in front over 105,000+ screaming fans and play to the hype. If we bring in a kid that says, "we will see how I play, HOPEFULLY it will be okay, than our team doesn't have the leadership it needs." Smith had this and this is what TP needs to have to be successful as well.

Heck, even JT said it today when he told the press "Because I want a quarterback who says, ?Hey, I want to be in there every play and I?m going to show you why.?"
