QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Pryor still dreaming big

The funny thing is, Terrelle Pryor says, he doesn’t usually dream. But there have been a couple every year for the past few years where he’s quarterbacked three Super Bowl titles. In the dream, there is no logo. No, no memorabilia. Just football.

“I don’t know the team. It’s always in black uniforms,” Pryor is saying during lunch this week. “I didn’t see any orange. No, it’s not the Raiders. But I believe it can happen because I can visualize it like that. I’m into visualization.”

Hue Jackson can see him, too. He has seen him for the last week at the Bengals voluntary workouts and the man who rescued Pryor four years ago amid scandal and purgatory has seen vast change.

“At some point in time,’ Jackson says, “life rewards you for the hard times and hopefully some day he’ll find his reward. He’s responded. He’s here early. He stays late. He does everything you would want someone to do…He’s more mature. He’s come here from three different places and after a while when you’re getting your butt kicked, you want it to end, and you’re doing everything you can to put yourself in the best possible light with your teammates.”

Terrelle Pryor was claimed on waivers by the Browns per source.

This has to be Pryor's last chance, right?

Has to be. If he can't make the roster with the Browns as a WR he's done in the US. I always thought he would be a good red zone jump ball WR. I don't see him catching balls over the middle, but if they can use his straight away speed and jumping ability he has a shot.

He only registered a 31" vertical at his NFL workouts so his leaping ability is average at best. The 6' 5" frame will help that a bit though.

Fast 40, but workout #s otherwise not impressive

I'm not sure what went faster today -- the 6-4 (3/8), 232 pound Terrelle Pryor in the forty yard dash or, the buzz around him in the seconds afterward, as scouts registered that sizzling time in their heads and word spread throughout the internet and texting community.

4.38-4.41 seconds is an accurate time for both.

However, as impressive as Pryor was in the straight-line speed portion of the workout, he was stunningly average in several other athletic portions of the event.

According to a league source, Pryor was timed at 4.3 seconds in the short-shuttle and 7.2 seconds in the three-cone drill

He also had a 31" vertical jump and a 10'4" broad jump.

The source characterized the results as "not that great of workout numbers for a supposedly great athlete."
