QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Great post, he looks like a completely different QB. He had some inaccurate passes but also some really good ones to go along with those. I always thought Pryor would have no chance in the NFL, but if he continues to progress like this he definitely might.

What impressed me is he didnt take off with his feet. He kept the play alive and let it develop and got the ball out.

Thanks for making my first post here and me feel welcome!

That was my biggest take away as well. Not just that he didn't take off with his feet all the time, but his actual footwork and sliding in the pocket. He was legitimately sliding around in the pocket like a seasoned pro and buying seconds with simple slide steps and feel for where his protection was. For a guy who hasn't played in 2 years, to not have happy feet, get anxiety and leave the pocket at every moments notice was really impressive.

I'm not sure how any objective football fan who actually understands the game could not come away impressed with what they saw on Sunday. He was really solid.

He just has no timing or feel for most of his recievers. That comes with the live reps which he really isnt getting. He could definitely be a 250 yards passing and 50 yards rushing type of QB in this league. I dont know if he could ever be a consistent 300 per game guy passing but with the right coordinator and O line situation he can be a legitimate threat as long as he keeps improving.

Some good, some bad... but I agree on the timing of many of the off plays. Also, and you heard the announcers harp on it, but he was floating alot of his passes, seems like he doesn't trust his accuracy and timing enough to put real zip on the ball yet. The Raiders should have given Pryor the ball halfway through the season when it was clearly over... or was that week 1

Yeah, seemed like the same Pryor to me. Lots of floaters. I like TP but I don't know that you can succeed long term if you don't zip the ball sometime.

thats what i saw...i saw maybe 2-3 good passes and they were all within 20 yards...anything past 20 yards was pretty much a jump ball, and if the receiver caught it it was because they made a better play on the ball then the corner did...if he was playing Seattle, Denver or Pittsburgh that actually has a good pass defense, then he would of thrown 9 INT's...he will always have the X factor which is his legs and running the football...if he can work in the offseason (AGAIN) on his throwing accuracy and strength, getting a rhythm with his receivers, etc...then he might be able to win a few games...im skeptical at best

I don't think he's ever going to be anything remotely prototypical at the position, but that is his strength. He's a unique player. His arm isn't perfect, but as long as he makes good decisions and puts the ball where only his guy has a chance, he'll stick in the league. He looked like TP in the highlights, which is mostly a good thing. :p

Not sure why Pryor still gets this rap from Buckeye fans. Pryor as a junior improved the zip on his passes a lot, mainly due to setting his feet more. Now Pryor rarely set his feet on any of those throws. Mainly due to pressure and inexperience. Give Pryor the reps he saw at tOSU and you'll start seeing some fastballs.

He gets that "rap" because he floats he ball...a lot. There is no way to watch that game and not see that. Again, I like TP, and I'm not sayin he does or doesn't have arm strength, but he throws a lot of floaters. I don't know all of the reasons for it, but I doubt that will work long term.

as we have seen all these young quarterbacks succeed now in the nfl, why should pryor be any different?

he is a 6'6 250 pound athletic freak playing at the highest level, his stiff arm is downright abusive, and runs with such poise, he looks like he is playing with the defense out there(when he runs)

when he passes, his ability to run makes up for his "bad mechanics" or "zip on his balls" <<<<that sounds kinda weird but they say it on tv

he will do just fine, its not like hes going to turn out to be ryan leaf or someone like that, he will have a long career, he's young, but not like vince.

And I'm disputing that that occurred mainly his first 2 years at tOSU. I saw a completely different QB his junior season. Now in his first NFL game, it's popping up again and people are acting like it's been that way his whole career when in fact it hasn't.

not true as far as I am concrned he has never been able to pass exceptionally well.
But then again I give him no sympathy because he lost us all the games last season and I dont really consider him a Buckeye.
He didnt graduate.
he did well one season and that was wiped out by him.
IMO he was a selfish player, as he put himself above the team and tOSU.
