Being punished for being too eligible for the supplemental draft seemed stupid anyways. I know they don't want people "circumventing" the regular draft and its rules, but I think it's obvious his situation changed. I wonder though, is he appealing because he think he might get PT, or is it because he doesn't get paid during the suspension?

I don't see Tressel doing this.. infact, he suggested he sit. I get that he's feeling pressure from the union or ownership - but wasn't he just saying that "your mistakes catch up to you" and that he was going to man-up and take his punishment?

Kind of how he promised he would man up and come back to school this year? What, did he think it was going to be easy? Once everyone started picking on him in the media and on facebook he bolts for greener pastures?

I'm sorry, I like TP and wish him the best, but the further and further we get away from ground-zero.. the more disgusted I am with him and Tressel both.

The league can't just make rules up as it goes. I'd imagine that the players union has more of a problem with this suspension than Pryor. Pryor wasn't going to appeal, remember.

Whether a suspension would be good for him or not is irrelevant. The NFL has never done this, and they shouldn't just be able to start all of a sudden. They should've figured this shit out during the lockout.

And Pryor's suspension for violating supplemental draft rules is bullshit. Goodell basically admitted that when he said he was going to take action against Tressel if the Colts didn't.

The NFL has every right to suspend him for going around the rules of the supplemental. The Shield is basically telling all the other atheletes, just because you go out and hire an agent, you can't get a free pass once the draft has passed.

If TP just leaves after the season, none of this is an issue. TP dug his own grave - tough shit for him.

Oh, and the bold, I would have to think Goodell either got baited or is an idiot for saying what he said - caused my eyebrows to raise, but I doubt he would have done shit to Jim Tressel - him speaking up after JT suggested he sit out made him look tough, I think it was PR.. nothing more, nothing less.

Anyone who thinks OSU's problems began when Pryor got here has their head so far in the sand they see the moon with their eyes and feel the sun on their ass.

Let it go folks, he's not the first entitled athlete and he won't be the last. Best of luck to him in Goodell's play thing, I mean the NFL.

They said he was suspended because "Pryor made decisions that undermined the integrity of the eligibility rules for the NFL draft."

Like what? Missing the deadline? Because something came up that changed his eligibility status in the NCAA? Both outlined as reasons a player would be in the supplemental draft. There should have been many, many other suspensions in the past if TP's case is suspension-worthy. There are probably cases like this every year.

One other thing.. if the league is worried about integrity, why the fuck would performance-enhancing drugs warrant a lesser-suspension than a kid who fucked up his eligibility by getting tattoos?

The excuse for the suspension was just that - an excuse.
