His comments, and the Michael Vick eye patch made me cringe. But a 5 Game suspension seems like an appropriate punishment for the NCAA violations for which he has been found guilty.

Perhaps the media persecution, his coach losing his job, and the belittling from some OSU Legends will serve as a last chance wake up call. His apologies since the violations were announced, may not have seemed sincere, but he took every opportunity to apologize, and he did not flee to the NFL. His play in the Sugar Bowl, to me, seemed a little more passionate and committed. He was running with more power and aggression than he had before.

If we get that player back, and if his teammates welcome him back -- I hope he starts against Nebraska, and I will cheer for him and the team.

Fair enough. Obviously you and I disagree here on the semantics, but I agree with the forwarding thing. As for TP, 7 cars in 2 years (or whatever the hell it is), tattoos, the high school committing fiasco, comments about Vick.........after a while it gets tough to defend him.

Agreed. Without a doubt. I wouldn't blame someone for being pissed at TP right now. It's just ridiculous to pretend that most of us "know" any of the fucking players.

I've stayed away from the boards for a while but I guess I'll add my 2 cents. The only feeling that really comes to me is disappointment. Disappointed that Terrelle has let himself, his teammates, and his University down with his alleged actions. Disappointed that our compliance office wasn't really doing their jobs. Disappointed that our coaches didn't take the proper steps to deal with this issue. Especially disappointed that arguably our best coach of all time has to step down because of all of this.

With that in mind, I hope Terrelle stays. I hope we are able to debunk a lot of the accusations from the SI article publicly, and I hope Terrelle gets the car thing taken care of quickly. I don't feel he's this "cancer" to the team like he's been broadcasted as. We'll get through this and life will go on.

Sure we do. They CHOSE to come to Ohio State University and represent the alma mater of 400K alumni, plus students and faculty, plus the millions of Ohioans who support and feel a bond with the university. Many are given highly preferential treatment to even be accepted into the university.

We have every right to expect that they do the work in the classroom (something that is not in question currently) and represent the university well off the field (something that is). When individuals fail in either of these regards and bring negative publicity to the university, I think we have every right to judge their character and form opinions on whether they should continue to represent the university.

I think we have the right to question their motives or whether they should remain at the university. I just don't think making judgments on peoples character is wise considering you know little to fucking nothing on how they operate on a dialy basis. Shit, for all you know, TP visits sick kids daily. I'd say that using his celebrity to make a sick kid smile trumps upsetting you, but that's just me.

Semantics? I guess the word "judge" is what throws me off. I believe we all have the right to question his choices and the decisions he's made. It just irritates me that people are condemning him when the only allegations that have been proven so far (as far as I know anyway) happened what...two years ago?

Seems to me that the university's reputation is heavily dependent on the media. Should we judge all players named in that SI article?
