QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Surely you aren't trying to claim that an OSU booster offering an OSU student athlete a car isn't a legit news story?

Edit: it's a legit news story no matter where it happens.

"Offered a car" is the headline and Rolle's words taken out of context. He explained that it was a better car at a lower price, so he wasn't being offered a car for free. But he clearly felt it would have been an improper deal, so he turned it down.

Most reasonable people realize that there are athletes at most of the top25 programs that are offered deals like that - but right now the focus is on Ohio State so that's where almost all of the articles are pointing at.

I'm more than ready to have another program take its turn in the barrel.

Which article written over the last year claims Aaron Kniffin is a booster?

Being a knucklehead and a jock-sniffer doesn't make somebody a booster.

I don't believe the CBS article on Rolle saying he declined a better deal mentions Kniffin.

for all anyone knows he bought the 02 Jetta and the salesman was like are you sure you dont want this "04 Chrystler 300 thats been on our lot for 120 days that used to be a rental"

Brian, Small, Rose, Thad etc etc dont know what a better car deal is

+ 1, brother. People don't know how to buy cars, I guess.

And the headline writer must have had a stiffy when he wrote the headline.... oh boy, someone offered him a car deal.... let's just leave off the word 'deal' and it's so much better...

I think Pryor is a bit of a brat but all great athletes are. And he is not a good athlete, he is a great athlete.

If we have to go this year without Pryor, so be it, but the dude did some things while he was here.

Go Bucks!

He didn't offer him a car. Do you know how to read or do you have dark mist in your eyes?

Setting aside those of us with masochistic tendencies, the rest should stop torturing yourselves by reading/reacting to all of the crap being spewn in the media. I haven't read anything since Tressel stepped down, and it looks like I haven't missed anything.

The next newsworthy item re: Terrelle is going to be whether or not he decides to enter the supplemental draft.

If you wanted to stand on one leg and put your hand over your good eye, you might say that having autographed pictures of current players hanging in your dealership meets the definition of a booster for a car sales person.......but that looks pretty damn stretchy to me.

Agreed. Tressel stepping down means I haven't turned on sports radio or ESPN since. My NCAA2011 tried to play some ESPNRadio at me so I muted it. Guess what....I don't know what stupid things Mark May or Skip Bayless are saying.

"... I've heard through players, former players, that T.P. operated and was allowed to operate by his own set of rules. Being late to meetings. Being late to practice. Not showing up for workouts." -- Chris Spielman, discussing Terrelle Pryor
I hope this wasn't already discussed at length, and I hope it's OK to ask this question, at least in this thread. But, has anyone ever heard this (aside from a faint rumbling) about TP operating by his own set of rules? I know Spielman speaks somewhat unfiltered and that's appreciated at times, but this kind of seems like piling on to me at this point. Being a huge tOSU alum and advocate I figured he'd leave this kind of stuff for the hacks and Joe Schads of the world, so that disappoints me a bit. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is categorically false, and it disappoints me that JT would let it happen. But I had to hear this sort of thing incessantly from my MSU-fan father-in-law about Tressel's treatment of MoC. Eh, maybe I'm just being hyper-sensative. I, like everyone else, just want it to end so we can move on. Just curious what others think or have heard. And, not that it matters or justifies it, how unusual is this sort of thing?

I have a feeling if TP was a no show at practice and work outs we would have heard about it before now....but who knows.

I don't know about anyone else, but if the heat win the finals I won't be able to watch espn for a month at least.
