Though every team's quarterback will be placed in the spotlight for any big game, Ohio State's Terrelle Pryor has landed there for reasons other than just X's and O's.

Entering tonight's Sugar Bowl game against Arkansas, fans and observers are curious to see what affect the recent controversy surrounding Pryor and five other teammates will have on his play. Their selling of memorabilia - a part of NCAA violations that earned him and his teammates suspensions to be served at the start of the 2011 season - created a storm of criticism around the program.

But if those issues will cause Pryor problems come game time, OSU receiver Dane Sanzenbacher said it hasn't been obvious during recent practices.

"It has been good. I haven't really noticed a difference, to be honest," Sanzenbacher said of Pryor's demeanor. "He's his same, loose self."

But another issue is whether Pryor will feel the pressure to deliver a memorable performance, as he did last season in helping the Buckeyes beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl. This time, free-throwng Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, a prototypical pocker passer, will be the competition.

The last time Arkansas faced a quarterback similar to Pryor, eventual Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton ran and passed Auburn to a 65-43 victory. Could that be a harbinger?

"I don't compare myself to anybody. Sorry, I don't," Pryor said. "We don't run the same offense."

But he did say the Buckeyes took note of the way Newton and Tigers got after the Razorbacks.

"I liked how they attacked," Pryor said. "Cam and the (running backs), they were running that ball. They definitely were moving the ball."

Newton ran for 188 yards that day. Can Pryor match that? Stay tuned.

They just showed him on ESPiN. TP is listening to me........enjoy your role as the villain.
Well, he usually thrives when everyone is doubting/hating on him, but struggles when he is hailed as a great force (see early 09 & 10).

Perhaps JT gave him the hat in a shrewd coaching move

A friend who is at the game said Pryor is warming up with a Miami Heat hat on.

Yeah he does. This is not a good time to have that hat on....

LeBron is a cancer.

So? Just because you all can't get over LeBron leaving the Cavs doesn't mean Pryor can't be a fan of the Heat.

Let it go, people.

I don't know that you can just blow it off and say that it means nothing. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, but there is the possibility.....
