I guess I don't understand. Why did Pryor get 1 more game than Smith did? Unless you're saying the NC game doesn't really count, since Smith did so badly.
I think the big difference was that teams respected Troy Smith so much, the running backs had much more opportunities. I believe that Pittman was a 1,000-yard rusher. With the running backs gaining more yards, there was less that Smith needed to do. Teams this year were able to minimize the output from the Ohio State running backs, and Pryor was a bigger percentage of Ohio State's total offense.
