I watched the same game tonight too and thought the same thing. Troy was very accurate with his passes and TP would need to improve there. I also noticed TGII dropped a few. Let's hope our WRs play lights out. :oh:

Against RR's scUM teams, I'm not sure if past Buckeyes would allow that to count.

It seems to me like TP is on the opposite end of the "Michigan-killer" spectrum than Troy Smith was.

Sure, TP made soem very good runs and moved the chains several times by his running, but the passing and all that goes with that was very scary throughout.

Even if he wins all four - and he darn well should - it doesn't appear he will come close to destroying scUM like Troy did.

i think tp played a pretty good game today. his lone pick really wasnt his fault, granted the ball was a little high, but devier should have caught it considering it hit him in the hands. tp made good decisions on when to tuck it and run and also when to throw it away. lets bring that momentum into the rose bowl baby and into next season (2011 natl chmps/heisman winner)

TP is definitely improving a lot, and a lot and a lot. His passing is getting better, but what's striking is his decision making. It's loads better. He's still a little tentative sometimes, but not NEARLY as much as just weeks ago. It's night and day. And, typically he's making decisive decisions correctly, i.e., it's not like he's decisively doing something stupid. Throwing the ball away, checking down, running with authority.. All in all playing much better.

As far as passing, he is definitely still a work in progress. I think right now, one of the higher priorities for the coaching staff should be working on his deep ball. If he can get that down a little better, our offense will be a lot more potent. We have really only had success within 10-15 yards of the LOS. Spreading the field down the field will really help every other play.

His decision-making was much better. I liked the two times he threw it away instead of taking the sack, even if one didn't make it to the line of scrimmage.

He badly missed two long passes to open receivers and slowed down early twice when he could have had a first down.

All in all, I am very encouraged.

everyone should be encouraged by his progression from the purdue game. at this rate, i seriously think he will be apart of the heisman talk over the next two years while leading us to a national title next year. he has so much potential and i can see him turning into troy (from his senior year) next season and really just tear up secondaries. dont even get me started on how good of a runner he will turn into.
