QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor has gotten knicked as the season has gone along, Tressel said, and he sat out the second half of the win last week after the Buckeyes had built a 28-0 halftime lead. But Tressel said he expects no physical fall-off from Pryor, who will be playing in his home state (Jeannette is his hometown) and against the school that put on a full-court press for his services during the recruiting derby.

"I would expect him not to be debilitated," Tressel said. "Adrenaline is an amazing thing, even when you're feeling a little bit sore or whatnot. All of a sudden the blood starts flowing and the lights are turned on and it's time to go.

"I'm not sure any of our guys, whether it's the ones with the (bruised) ribs or the elbows or the ankles or the hips or the knees or the feet -- we've got a little bit of everything. He'll be ready to go."

BuckeyeXtra - OSU football: Kicking situation still undecided, Tressel says

I agree that Smith has spoiled Buckeye fans. It's similar to the way that we were all comparing running backs to Eddie George for a while. (Did we have ANY good running backs for a few years?)

But I really doubt that, without Troy Smith, anyone would be hailing Pryor as an all-time great.

Compare everyone's favorite buckeye, Steve Bellisari, with Pryor:
Bellisari's senior season stats (Since it was all I could find): 2001 Ohio State Statistics | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Pryor's stats: Terrelle Pryor Stats, News, Photos - Ohio State Buckeyes - NCAA College Football - ESPN

Yards:
Bellisari 1599
Pryor 1543

Yards per Attempt:
Bellisari 8.6
Pryor 7.45

Rating:
Bellisari 133.4
Pryor 129.2

TD-Int
Bellisari 8-6
Pryor 13-9

Of course, this is Bellisari's 3rd year of starting. No one was saying "see what he becomes next year" for him. People had already said that for 2 years before that for Bellisari.

I think that Pryor has a ways to go in his development. But I'm optimistic about it. I get the feeling that he is working toward improving, and I hope that we can do soon group Pryor with some of Ohio State's all-time greats.

1 career 300 yard game
29 career ints (5th)
35 career tds (7th)
128 yards a game career (includes frosh year on special teams)
4th most consecutive 200 yard games

200 yard games in a season:
2000-6 (3rd)
2001-5 (5th)

doesnt answer anymore questions, fills in some stats gaps i guess...

...maybe I should have said, "if we were to get three more Purdue-like games, I would play Bauserman, or Guiton, or Sanzenbacher before I would go through a fifth Purdue game."

I fully expect TP to keep improving and to not have another game like that.

But two fumbles and two picks? Against a Purdue? Those are Nick Sheridan type of numbers and there has to be a backup plan if that were the norm.

Like I said, these next three games will tell us a lot about TP, and a whole lot of other players.

I just vbet a million on winning all three!!

Pryor is going to go the f*** off in this game...... book mark it.
I hope so, but I think the "light" comes on at the bowl game.. and unfortuantley, my perdiction is it will be in the Cap One bowl.

Lose to Penn St.
Win over Iowa
Win over scUM
Win over UF/Ala

Top 3 next season

Points taken, but you left out W/L records (career and season) in the comparison, Zurp. Pryor is no Stevie B.

When TP has consistently good pass blocking/and a decent run game , he will be a monster college QB. His progression will mirror the O line growth.
This could well be a 4 year QB development. ( I'm hoping we some some progression starting Saturday.....)
But, would that really be so bad if we're winning?
