QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

One bit of speculation:

The more playing time that TP sees this year, the worse that bodes for the success of the team as a whole (generally speaking). If I were to find out right now that TP was going to see a lot of playing time, I woul be thinking to myself that we are plobably going to be losing a few games.

And for those inclined to bring up Tebow and Florida winning a MNC with him seeing signifcant PT, please remember that Florida did not have much of a backfield and that is not the case with Ohio State. Tebow was essentially their goalline back. We got Beanie (enough said).

I am as excited to see TP play as anybody, but if he never sees a meaningful live snap this year, I think we will all be very happy indeed!

Go Bucks!

Well, don't be the first to bitch next year when Pryor ends up the starter with no playing experience under his belt. :roll1:

And what of Bauserman? He's a heck of an athlete in his own right and capable of running a spread offense. And he's ahead of TP in learning and throwing. Not knowing what TP's learning curve is, Joe B. looks like the safer bet to start at the bigginning of next year.

Says who? I understand he needs to develope and IMO isn't ready to start.. but how do you or anyone else know his arm is "iffy"
Did you watch the Army All American game? He's an arm thrower right now.
That won't work on the Big Ten level. His mechanics need work. And Bauserman has a better arm and knowledge right now.

If that means that TB lead Ohio State to a MNC and all the action Pryor really saw was mop-up duty, then you will hear no complaints from me. Heck, you will not hear complaints from me regardless. I trust that the coaches know what they are doing.

I still like the potential of TP as a change of pace type player or an X factor that defenses have to prepare for. With this in mind, I hope he is taking meaningful snaps in games but with TB taking most of the load. We need more play making ability at the QB position and perhaps adding TP in a limited way gives us that. Time will tell.

You refer to the past to compare Pryor to a present day Joe Bauserman...yet you refuse to give Pryor the same indulgence by accepting the fact that he will have intense coaching for the next year before this is even an issue.

If Pryor is only an "arm thrower" right now...imagine how much more velocity he will have once he learns to use that enormous frame.

Count on Pryor getting 20% of offensive snaps this season...

Then we'll have 2 qbs with no meaningful experience heading into next season.

Name the wager. I'll take that bet.

I would have to reserve judgment on that until after I see them in action more. But if I had to bet right now, I would agree with you and bet on TP being next year's starter. I am assuming that TP will have at least developed enough passing skills by then so that there is at least a decent down field threat.
