I know TP wants to play both sports in college, but why does it seem as if his basketball recruiting is pretty much an afterthought?

Partly because wherever he goes he will count as a FB schollie and will therefore never sign a BBall LOI. But it is also a given that he will play football whereas BBall may be probable, but is not certain.

The first time Terrelle Pryor got the ball in his hands this season, he had a long touchdown run. The final time he got the ball, he had a long touchdown run.

In between, he was practically untouchable.

Pryor, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound senior quarterback at Jeannette, had one of the greatest seasons -- and careers -- of any player in the history of the WPIAL. He is the Post-Gazette Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The award takes into consideration all players in the WPIAL and City League.

"A lot of people throw around the word great," said Jeannette coach Ray Reitz. "They say this kid is great, and that kid is great. But really, this kid truly is the great one."

I was just sitting here watching ESPN 2. They are doing another piece on Rich Rod going to Michigan, bla bla. Then they start talking about how Rich Rod got on the phone with Pryor and started telling him how he could be the starter b/c they have no QB to run the spread. All of that is par for the course, not big deal. As they are saying this, there is a ticker at the bottom of the screen that reads, "Pryor decommits from WVU- Now considering Ohio State, Michigan, and Florida."

Also I'm pretty sure that TP himself has said that if he was really forced to make a choice it would be football, because his size is rarer at QB than SF. Think about how many 6'6 235lbs SFs there are, compared to QBs with that size.

I don't think so. That guy in the picture has a gut. Mike is big but not fat.

RRod is playing a very dangerous game. Losing Mallett & not swaying Pryor is a very real possibility.

How does Mallet feel when Rodriguez seems to be doing everything but coming out and saying that he's not the QB for Michigan anymore??

There's a report that RR has fired all of Carr's assistants other than the RB's coach. Pryor I believe, if I heard correctly had a good relationship with the current QB coach Scot Loeffler at Michigan. Does anyone think that could hurt Michigan's chances of getting Pryor?

HERSHEY, Pa. -- V.Y model number PA2007 was on display December 15 in Hershey Park Stadium as the legend of Jeanette (PA) senior do-it-all quarterback Terrelle Pryor (6-feet-6, 220 pounds) continued to grow.

The fleet-footed multi-purpose star accounted for five of Jeannette's seven touchdowns leading the Jayhawks to an undefeated season (16-0) and a PIAA Pennsylvania Class AA state championship in a dominating 49-21 victory against Dunmore.

The "sweet" victory was appropriately acclaimed in the so called "Sweetest Place on Earth" and Pryor displayed the extraordinary ability that has college recruiters across the country scurrying around for his services.

The game truly was an exclamation point to one of the greatest careers that I have followed in my 25 years of watching Pennsylvania high school football.

Pryor lived up to his enormous resume and hype -- many believe that he is the greatest player in Pennsylvania's rich high school football history -- by single handedly taking apart Dunmore.

He rushed for three touchdowns, threw for another, punted, kicked off, played safety/rush end on defense and, for good measure, catch a 28-yard pass over two Dunmore defenders to end the first half.

I know the humble likable young man was tired after the game, but he had to be fulfilled after vindicating Jeannette's loss in the 2006 finals loss. Pryor said after the huge win, "I just tried to make sure our team had team success -- Then, everyone noticed all the individual stuff that I did."
