MONTREAL — Marc Trestman spent a lifetime waiting for his opportunity to coach in the National Football League. And Trestman, who recently completed his first season with the Chicago Bears, believes he might still be waiting had Anthony Calvillo not been his quarterback.
“He’s as good as any quarterback that I’ve coached, based on availability, reliability, dependability and consistency,” Trestman told The Gazette. “It’s undeniable.”
And Trestman has crossed paths with some impressive pivots, dating back to his days at the University of Miami, where he was the quarterbacks coach and Bernie Kosar led the Hurricanes to a national championship. In the NFL, as an assistant, Trestman coached Steve Young, Rich Gannon and Scott Mitchell.
“I’m a better person and coach because I was graced and was able to coach him on a daily basis,” Trestman added. “I can’t do enough to give back to him. I would never have had this opportunity without Anthony Calvillo. I recognize that daily and I haven’t forgotten it.”
Calvillo is expected to announce his retirement Tuesday morning during a news conference at a downtown Montreal hotel. He played 20 seasons in the Canadian Football League — the last 16 with the Alouettes — and will retire as pro football’s career passing leader.

Not certain Johnson could go to Canada with the domestic violence and contempt charges on his record. Besides, he's now 36 and hasn't played any meaningful snaps for two years; or been productive in the league since 2010. I think the Al's could do better, unless they just want to bring a circus to town to put fannies in the seats.

Troy Smith this morning on AM 690 in Montreal said Chad Whatsit proved to him that "playing football is like riding a bicycle", you don't forget it,
and ex Ochocinco was great to throw to....

Cris Carter was observing the pre-training camp in Florida and said the same -- glad his son Duron is playing with a guy like Chad etc.
Duron's start last season:
