QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

kyle boller is never a best bet. if you're going to lose the rest of your games might as well lose with qb of future and not a broken down kyle boller

I agree. Boller has been a bust as a former first round draft pick. He's proven that he'll never be a starting QB in the NFL. Give Troy a chance.

Should the Ravens start Kyle Boller or Troy Smith at quarterback Sunday against the Dolphins?

Kyle Boller (1414 responses)
18.2%
Troy Smith (6364 responses)
81.8%

7778 total responses (Results not scientific)

The results may not be scientific, but the front office would be wise to listen to the fans on this Baltimore Sun poll.

Troy Smith will put butts on seats.

Let's not forget that there was a lot of debate about Troy right on this board. If they give him a shot, let him make a few mistakes while it slows down for him, and give him some support, he will be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, in my opinion.

Again, benching Boller is admitting they made a mistake giving him an extension earlier this year. They will give Kyle every opportunity to prove them right, rather than benching him and admitting they were wrong.

Just the way the NFL and many professional sports work.

Unfortunately I agree with everything you said. It is just a shame that Troy may not get a chance when it is painfully obvious that Boller is just not an NFL QB, he has the tools, but he just makes too many mistakes for even their defense (when it was dominating)

Well maybe with another abysmal effort (not much of a reach here) by Boller, they'll give Troy a shot in the last two games.

More likely the Ravens will fail to spit the bit against the hapless Phins - thus Billick gets to roll out Boller against the Seahawks, who will eat up the Dirty Birds and spit out the wishbone. Thus the last chance for Troy may come when the Ravens host the Steelers. Now, unless they are resting players for a play-off run, the Steelers will give Smith a much tougher starting gig than the perfect opportunity offered by a trip to Miami this weekend.

But, you know, playing Troy under center then would be just too logical.
