QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

finally a positive article concerning College Football!

I have to honestly say that I like this guy alot and I have no favorite when it comes to who is behind center this year, I think OSU is very lucky to have Smith on the team....seems like a class act.

Can' help but admire TS. There's the Ginn connection and a Mom who really cared. A strong "team" environment at Glenville and now at OSU. I hope for his success in school, sports and life. The only downer is his experience at Lakewood. What is it that continually discourages unity and tranquility based soley on race?

It seems that any supposed shortcomings he has as a qb will be addressed and fixed through his hard work.

This didn't seem like your normal athlete just trying to give a bullshit answer. It seems to give an accurate insight into his personality. He should be a great team player whether hes a starter of not.

Nice work, TS. Keep it up.

I'm glad to see that Troy is having such a positive experience at OSU and has the right attitude to succeed in life. Just a question-is Lakewood-St. ed's the way he described, regarding race, or was his an isolated incidence. The HS I teach at has a very small black student population, but I have never heard of any racist crap from any of the white students.

if you were Troy Smith...

be honest, would you transfer out??? he obviously is never going to get a real opportunity to be the man at osu. a qb can practice every day, all day, but until he gets game action he will never truly develop. holding a clipboard for four years isn't going to benefit Smith if he wants to play at the next level. what would you do? transfer to a small school and play immediately? transfer to a bowling green or kent st., sit out a year, and then start for two years?? look at what brock berlin has done by transferring out of florida. smith already has his gold pants, varsity lettermans jacket, and a nc ring....personally, i'd be out of there asap if i were Smith.

I wouldn't be surprised if he does...but also...you never know what will happen during a season. He may be needed to step in and come up big sometime in the future...like McMullen did for Krenzel last year. I think Smith should do whatever he wants to do. But the question was...if I were Troy Smith. If I were Troy Smith...i'd be happy to be a part of the best college football program in America...I'd rather back up at Ohio State than play anywhere else...but I doubt he loves Ohio State like I do.
