QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Pat White? What a freaking joke. That author has really jumped on the WVU bandwagon. He cites White's stats, but fails to do the same for Smith, likely b/c Smith's stats blow White's out of the water. And Jordan Palmer? Come one. This guy must have missed the entire year last season. IMO, Smith's at least #2, and the only player you can legitimately argue deserves to be #1 ahead of him is Quinn.

Those who question Henne's ability to step up under pressure should note his seven touchdown passes in two bowl games.<!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE -->

7 touchdown passes in two bowl game losses.

Good assumption, not a single area better, but maybe sacks?!?!

Pat White didnt play the first half of the season, thats why he was only sacked 5 times.

Pat White has the edge in the running department. Having watched at least 4-5 WVU games last year [a guy in my shop loves them so I watched]. Troy though has the edge in the passing department, not so much an edge but more like a huge gap. If Pat worked on his passing over the off season it's not out of the question that he could be on, or past, TS's "level" next year. My money is still on TS, easy, but they both should be great.

then I wonder what could explain every other stat being behind Troy...

Sure, so 2x his stats...

TS still has more yards, less INTs and a much better Rating... the one thing this leaves out is running yards, where clearly Pat White will have the significant edge. But in the passing areas, TS is by far the better QB
