QB Taylor Graham (transfer to Hawaii)

Sorry, this video shows little in the way of overall ability throwing the football. Five yard outs and quick pops over the middle with a couple of roll out passes thrown in does not give the viewer a complete read on his capabilities. There are no deep completions and no deep outs. I am sure he had to make these throws at camp thereby generating an offer but I'll wait for better (hopefully) film.

I would agree but i think Graham has good arm stregth and may have more mobility.

Love the legacy recruits, although it is always a little sad when the son doesn't measure up to the father (Dionte Johnson). Sometimes they work out great, too....

Also love the fact that the kid is playing in greater Chi town area. Big schools, lots of media, lots of hype.

I did not realize that his dad transferred from ND. Booya!

I trust his father will help him make the right choice, and I DON'T mean necessarily picking OSU.

Any quotes from his dad as to his preferences??

Hard to tell about his arm strength on there, but it does show the more important aspect for a QB....accuracy. He is accurate, has good touch, can throw on the run. The arm strength will come as he gets older, he certainly has the frame for it. Definitely seems to fit the mold for the QB that JT wants in the system going along the lines of the other recent QB recruits targeted by the staff.

especially true in college ball as compared to pro ball.

lol, I've never seen a HS team run a deep out, that's like the cream of the crop NFL type of throw. Deep outs, hahaha.

i would argue that accuracy is the important trait for a good qb at any level. the great qb's have a strong, accurate arm. if i had to pick one or the other i would take accuracy (case in point derek anderson). haven't seen any film but it's definitely good to hear that Graham shows good accuracy.

Exactly bros, the competition is relative on any stage as it compares to getting the ball to the receiver. It doesn't matter whether the recievers are a 0.03 step faster getting to that spot, the QB is going to get it there no matter what, with a lil time and practice.

Indeed, although I agree with keylime that accuracy is more important in college because those throwing windows are open longer than they are in the NFL, so the obvious bump up in arm strength is necessary.

But arm strength, IMO, is the most overrated aspect for a QB. Jamarcus Russell and Kyle Boller are the two shining examples that a big arm can't do much for you in the NFL (Derek Anderson is near that boat as well). That's why I always hate when ESPN use to be the the only draft show and they'd have a video of Boller throwing 50 yards on his knees.....congrats, but that's a sack in college....and in the NFL, that's just asking for a LB to tear your head off.

But then you look at a guy like Chad Pennington who is still around and doing well because of accuracy. But the greats do it both, like Elway, Montana, Manning, etc.

Agree, I wouldnt put Jamarcus in that group the talent around him is terrible and the organization/team he plays for is a cluster....
