QB Tathan Martell (transfer to Miami, transfer to UNLV)

First off, amazing game for Tate...I was jumping out of my chair for him. But I will be honest, I was beyond pissed when they let him back in the game after the injury...then he just blew the defense away for that rushing TD haha. Tate is going to be an amazing QB here, feel like we will see him in bits and pieces this year, he will be the man after the Haskins show goes to the NFL.

He is a true Dual Threat QB, and should be treated as such when in games. I hope when Urban returns he doesn't use him like he did JT, because that would be a big disservice to the kid. I know this year there will be a lot of knocks on JT(and at times rightfully so), but Tate seems to guide the offense more like how Tua guides Bama, or Bryant at Clemson. Guys who are threats to run on any play whether the play breaks down or not, or beat you through the air. And it helps having such an experienced WR corps that goes a solid 6 deep, and then throw in another solid 3 deep at TE and our RBs who can also catch, and Tate is provided a wealth of weapons if he can just make good decisions and not let the moments get too big. As good of a game this was, I can't wait to see what he and Haskins will look like in hostile environments away from the SHoe in Arlington, Happy Valley, and East Lansing

Looks a lot like Braxton Miller out there to me
Brax was a "generational player". A unique, special talent that we won't see for years. Brax could singlehandedly take over a game.
Tate is not that. But we'll just have to see how things go.
IDK if Braxton ever had the arm talent that Tate has, and will only improve. For all of Braxton's talent, he was never a real QB, more of an athlete disguised as a QB. I think Tat-gate truly stunted his growth, because he was thrust into the starting spot as a true frosh, instead of sitting and watching Pryor lead the team for one more year while he learned the offense and became an actual QB with Dual Threat capabilities. I think Braxton was made to improvise and just go out and win games, instead of becoming an actual QB, hence why he's in the NFL as a WR(regardless of the shoulder injury few NFL teams saw him as a pro QB prospect, but more of a Matt Jones, Ronald Curry, Antwaan Randle EL, Ryan McNeil, etc). Tate could become what Tua is for Bama or even what Baker Mayfield was at OU, which is still an amazing talent, and capable of winning an NC.

Tate doesn't look to be quite the runner Braxton was but that's not a slight. I saw Braxton do thing not many people this side of Barry Sanders have done while running the ball. They are about equal on arm strength I think. People forget before the shoulder surgeries Braxton had a cannon. However Tate looks more accurate though in an admittedly small sample size.

Not only does Tate look more accurate, but he also has better touch on the ball. Braxton rifled almost everything, and stared down WRs, and was able to use his uber athleticism to get out of crazy situations. Braxton as a runner was up there with the best DT QBs, but was never much more than an athlete
