Ohio State five-star quarterback commit Tate Martell led his No. 3 ranked Bishop Gorman team to a dominating performance against No. 5 Cedar Hill, one of Texas' premier high school teams.

After a 34 yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, the Buckeye commit spelled out O-H-I-O with his arms.

- Tyjon Lindsey was out with a broken collarbone, so Tate was missing his favorite target.
- Cedar Hill batted down two of Tate's first three passes. It is fair for people to be concerned about his being 5'10". I believe this may have affected his delivery later.
- Tate overthrew a number of his guys on intermediate and deep routes. I don't know if the first two points contributed to it, if it was the trash talking going back and forth for the last five months, or something else, but he looked like bad Cardale for almost the entire first half. When his RB left with an ankle injury he took over and suddenly became good JT.

Lastly, Bishop Gorman has D1 college prospects two-deep on both lines. It is evident. Cedar Hill could not run the ball, and they could not stop the run. I think you have to account for that *somehow* in evaluating Martell.

Also, there were a few passes that were on the money but the WRs weren't creating separation and the DB swatted it away. I think his passing was a little underwhelming, but he wasn't offered much help either.

The only concern is the batted balls. That can be addressed.
But he is what Urban wants at QB in this offense.
A leader.
A tough kid.
A good decision maker with the ball.
Just a straight up gamer.

Will anybody beat Gorman when Lindsey is available? They beat a very good team by 30!
That is a Helluva loaded team!

I've watched Tate play since his sophomore year and I'm not all too concerned with the accuracy issues in that game. First game of the year, no Lindsey, etc. But I hope that doesn't become the norm in his throwing motion because he definitely had some mechanical flaws that led to poor throws. I highly doubt it is though, his mechanics looked great in the offseason.

Other than that, led his team well and was his regular electric self running the ball. This BG team might be the best HS team I've watched, talent is flat out unreal. Cedar Hill is an extremely impressive team and they got demolished. Here is to Tate and the gang keeping this pipeline flowing.

Ohio State-bound quarterback Tate Martell was magnificent, throwing four 183 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for 113 more and another score, as the Gaels won their 42nd-consecutive game. It was the 31st-straight victory as starting quarterback for the shifty 5-foot-11, 200-pound dual-threat quarterback, who constantly scrambled out of trouble.

"We obviously struggled in the first half, but showed just how much we work every summer," Martell said in a postgame TV interview. "My line did great, our running backs and receivers did great. I have to manage the game but all the rest of the guys have to make plays, no matter who it is."

Seen all three games...and I've seen enough to know that he's the real deal, I don't know what his official 40 time is but hes definitely a lot more athletic than I initially thought. He has plenty arm and it's effortless. Drew Brees or Mike Vick like effortless. It's beautiful to watch!
