Agreed. If that means that Cardale is out of the game for an extended period of time. If he's out for a few plays but returning then you go with Marshall.

There's no need to protect Stephen's redshirt but the chances of being able to use him effectively are fairly slim. If somehow Herman pulls out even more magic to accomplish that, order a statue for him.

Agreed. The only time I can see needing to use him and still win the game is if Cardale gets hurt in the second half with a lead. If it's the first half and he gets knocked out, or if we are losing at the time, it's game over. Having said that though, I've seen Herman refer to our backup as Marshall. So I'm not sure if he means in any situation, or only in packages. So maybe he would be our true QB if Cardale went down.

Exactly how I've always felt. Barring another crazy scenario like this season, he isn't going to see meaningful snaps next season anyways.
