QB Quinn Ewers (transfer to Texas)

It's good, hollow short term entertainment. But, to me, the long term outlook is grim for the entire sport. It's basically on its way to being just another pro league. The landscape is changing, rivalries and traditions are dying. If kids don't play immediately, they just bail.

It was inevitable and it's all better for the athletes, but selfishly I don't like it one bit.
Honestly college sports has basically been a pro league for a long time now. We just finally decided to stop lying about it.

At this point we have to pray Kyle McCord is okay sitting 1 more year and doesn't transfer too or we are hurting lol.

So let me get this straight. OSU has played a hand in a string of highly successful QBs including one right now in his RS freshman year.

The once crowded QB room has seen 2 players enter the portal and yet we STILL need to be worried about McCord. I mean how fucked up is that? If I have to worry about shit like that then I’ll lose all interest in the sport.

I mean……c’mon man. Think about what you are saying for a minute.

Really trying to strong arm Ryan Day? Haha

So he came here thinking he'd start within 2 years when Stroud was clearly the #1?

LOL.

I see it as more of the dark side of what NIL can do to a 17 year old kid.

He's not much past being out of high school and has adults pointing at contracts, letting him know if he doesn't produce enough he isn't getting paid/has to pay back a lot of money.

That's a tough fucking place for any kid to be in at such an early age. OSU and my fandom have fuck all to do with it.

I have a boy that age. He simply isn't ready for that kind of world. I'm thinking most of them aren't.

None of them probably are.

Now there's reports the pay to play wasn't in his deal. Who knows and honestly who cares.
