The Ohio State lefty quarterback pledge moved up to five-star status after a great showing at the Elite 11. The Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes prospect is not flashy, he’s just very measured, very compact and very accurate – which makes for an elite quarterback who

Thanks for the recap! I’ve watched some highlights, and it’s amazing what he’s able to do with WRs that size. Can only imagine what he’ll do with the talent he’ll have with him at OSUNo worries.
1st Quarter has not looked all that good because Carrollton is whipping them so far. Scoring drive just happened and Nolan launched one on 3rd and Long, his best throw, down the left side and his WR made a hell of a catch! So far Justus Savage, RB, has impressed me the most for LHHS. Got my eye on that kid now.
Edit: Savage is special man! 5'10" 200lbs and has excellent quickness and speed. How no one big hasn't snagged him already I have no clue. Our recruits better be magnificent if we're not even paying attention to this kid with his QB already committed.
2nd Quarter is much better especially from a production standpoint. Big problem is the disgusting screens that do absolutely nothing. He just got his first TD to the same WR who caught his deep ball earlier but he threw off his back foot. Some bad habits with footwork that will get addressed I'm sure. Arm strength is plenty good enough though.
3rd Quarter they came out throwing and he looked pretty good. He throws a duck on occasion, especially to the sidelines, but he seems to get it on target even when he does. His deep ball is soft and very catchable but the route runners weren't very good in this game and most of them have fallen harmlessly. I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like with Jeremiah Smith out there and I giggled a little. He has been accurate on the run which is great to see. Only got to see him run once and he can get down the field but he slid a couple yards short of the marker inside the 15. If this were late in the year or a really important game, I'd hope he runs that little DB over for that first down. LHHS started having quite a bit of cramping problems including the best WR that has been Nolan's go-to.
4th Quarter was all Carrollton and they took the lead 34-33 with 4:35 left in the game. 2nd Down and Nolan throws a perfect ball 20 yards down the field hits his WR in the chest and falls to the ground. 3rd Down perfect pass to the same side just over the defenders hands for a first down to the 46. 3:20 left and Nolan on a keeper for 9 yards to the left and he slides down. 2nd and 1 and he pulled off some absolute magic. No way he should have got away from that sack and pulled a Justin Fields then throws a soft ball to Justus Savage for 25 yards and a first down. Next play, Nolan keeps it on a scramble to the right for about 14 yards for a 1st and 10 on the 10 or 11. Their kicker has never played a varsity game before, fyi. Illegal shift makes it 1st and Goal they call it from the 15 with 1:26 left. Savage was an absolute savage and scores with a great run and hurdle into the endzone, but, Holding. 1st and Goal from the 25! Nolan under pressure, escapes again, rolls left and floats one to the endzone...TD LHHS. Oh boy this is what I was hoping to see from this guy. His WR's are puny. I dont know if any of them are even 6ft tall so a back shoulder TD throw to the endzone is just nuts. 2pt play was no good because only 1 foot down, so that tells me he's ready for Saturdays. Damn the heart on this guy is huge. Left 1:11 on the clock though for JuJu Lewis. What a game.
Edit: Just to cap the game off: Kickoff returned to the plus 43 but there was a "non player personal foul" on LHHS. 26 yards to go for Lewis and Carrollton. Lewis is the real deal. LHHS stops them on the 1 daggone yard line as the clock runs out to seal the game. Unreal high school talent and ballgame to start the season.
