Day deemed him the better of the two options. Hopefully after a couple of weeks of practice he will become serviceable. Going on the road to play USC is going to be difficult even with a season full of practices.

I think Smith didn’t have anything ready to call that was tuned for Fahey. No prep during the week for the backup

I fully expect that Fahey will get some yards with his legs. He’s not afraid to tuck and go from what we’ve seen so far.

Our church has no bells.
The moment looked to big for him and it was a clown show. Knowing the offense and having run a similar offense in high school and playing well against Ball State is one thing. Being a gamer when it matters is another. You can’t tell me that TSC couldn’t have been better than that. This wasn’t Kenny Guiton or Cardale Jones or Dwayne Haskins. We have a problem and I hope TSCs gotten better in the last few weeks.

I for one am waiting to see what two weeks of prep do for this young man who was playing HS football 11 months ago.
Not sure what the fanbase expects from a backup frosh versus top 3 defense on the road. Freshman comparison, CJ didn't perform much better in first half in his first start on road against Minnesota.
Have we had a backup come in and do better? Cardale came in and had one Td drive in a quarter+ and that came on a 40+ yard Zeke run.
I'll decide in 14 days if the kid is worthy to be behind center.

Trust the coaches. Nothing TSC has shown when he has been in has been earth shattering. And that’s not a knock against the kid.

And Cardale was 3 years older than Fahey is now when he came in against TCUN. Not exactly a fair comparison to make. Those 3 years matter. Plus it was at home.
