QB Lincoln Kienholz (National Champion)

Will state……I’m not directly connected to program, I just get info from a well connected booster (top 25 which is solid).

Kienholz has become a priority to retain. They want an experienced guy in event Sayin we’re to get hurt……they do get their direction from coaching staff, which does say something IMO…..pitch is….Stay with us for $500k, learn under Day, and if it doesn’t work out, you get one season to make $$$$ as a 5th year senior elsewhere.

They worked a similar strategy with Judkins last year and they thought they sold him on it…..and it didn’t work……so take it for what it’s worth.

I would curious to see what he’d get elsewhere…

Judkins was going to the NFL. He got a $5M signing bonus and $11M guaranteed 4 year deal. Would have been nuts for him to stay.

Lincoln is likely looking at around $500k next year whether it’s at OSU or somewhere else. This is about if he wants to backup Sayin or start at another school.

This is not the same thing.

From I’m being told by an agent who reps college players…..the injury Judkins just took under his contract probably lost him more lifetime value based on how contracts are awarded……he thinks if Judkins did a backfield share with OSU and come out in this draft, he’d have been a late first rounder and made more in conjunction with NIL…

He honestly should leave. And I'm not forcing him out or wish for him to leave. But he deserves to battle for a starting spot somewhere like Brown did. Hoping he's able to hoist another NC trophy and ride off into the sunset for a team like Missouri, Baylor, NC State, etc

At the same time, Brown lost the QB competition he went to compete for, is probably making less NIL money, and is not competing for a national championship.

I’m not expecting Kienholz to stay, but Brown as an example doesn’t seem like a particularly compelling case for him to leave, in my opinion.

Yeah, if I’m Lincoln, I’m gone. Why ride the bench and hope for an NFL tryout when you could head to Tampa or another school and be showcased? Pretty easy decision, and in 100% all for it.
